I'm not surprised at all. The backstory makes it sound like the whole gang was on his back about Brian's death, and they don't even talk about his role in the incident, so he was probably just a scapegoat. The dialogue during that first mission makes it clear they all resent him for coming back, not for leaving. There's also a lot of dialogue that makes it clear he was the sole member actually against drugs. Also, the fact that so many members were at each other's throats and not doing anything about it is not normal. It's like they're trying to make the gang seem like a lost cause. The whole gang was probably in on the plan, they just didn't all have the stomach for it, and took the side less likely to kill them when push came to shove. The Hispanic boyfriend and triad leader both had their reasons for helping CJ-family and respect, respectively-Grove Street was motivated only by money.
@enigmatic28782 жыл бұрын
Bro I loved Woozie! I liked how how his blindness isn't said much unless it's a way to have CJ do a mission for him (because if he can see, Woozie will just kick ass left and right) or to make some small joke "I know you're blind, but you gotta see this!" Or "Are you doing the hand thing again?" "Oh right, sorry force of habit". I also love how his goons let him win with card games and the mini-golf but screw cj over which doesn't even lead up to much, it's just a fun detail. Kinda like Toph from atla. The blindness does affect how she acts in the story, but it's not brought up so much as a disability and is even used for light jokes. "I think it looks great!" "Why thqnk you! I've been worki- . . . Why do you feel the need to do that?" Also, saying Woozie's name with CJ's accent is just fun

Because Sweet stayed with his principal, Grove Street is weak. We can see how weak Grove Street is in-game because they still use TEC-9 & 9mm, two of weakest weapons in the game, while Ballas and Vagos use AK-47 and SMG in gang territory, arguably, two of the most powerful weapons. Sweet even realized this in the mission "Nines and Aks", saying that rival gangs weapons have advanced, while Grove hasn't. I think this is an interesting detail by Rockstar.

Big Smoke also explained the benefits of entering the drug game to Sweet in the introduction to get him on board and avoid having to kill him. Tenpenny knew Sweet couldn’t be reasoned with which is why Tenpenny approached Smoke with the proposition instead of Sweet in the first place. I agree with most of this except for Tenpenny's final goal. It wasn't just trying to get rich by triggering a gang war. His last words were "You never understood what I was doing. 50 of me and this town would be okay." He clearly had some bigger goal which he thought would benefit LS in the long run. This is just my theory based on pure speculation- I think he was maybe in cahoots with some larger organization to clean up Los Santos by making the gang members kill each other. I think this is the same organization which Toreno was targeting and using CJ to take down by destroying their plane, stealing their jet and destroying their yachts etc. My theory is that Toreno was trying to take down Tenpenny by pretending to be an insider at the Loco syndicate and when that failed he used CJ instead. This is why he asks CJ to bail out Sweet in the end because he wants the Johnson Brothers to take back the hood and kill Tenpenny.

Actually I think that Rider was meant to be a positive character and not a traitor but later due to a quarrel between the voice actor of Rider and Rockstar, Rockstar changed the story and made him an evil character. But that's what I think, 'cause there's no other legit explanation for why was Rider a good character in the beginning and then went against Grove. Another theory can be that Rider was kinda bored of Grove, and why not the families had broken and stuff and also due to an old school leader - Sweet, Smoke made him his pawn or probably Tenpenny did and then CJ killed him but this theory is based on pure assumptions so I don't support this one much. I just wish Rockstar had made a San Andreas Stories.

To clarify the whole Ryder situation. MC Eiht quit doing Ryder because he felt he wasn't getting paid enough. Keep this in mind. Originally, in the beta. Ryder was supposed to die in the same mission but instead of being chased by the boat, he was supposed to get killed by CJ on the dock. Then they decided to have Ryder make it all the way to the end, he was supposed to be forced to work with Smoke by CRASH but had no idea the power Smoke had, and then he was supposed to go into hiding from Smoke and return when Sweet got released and he was supposed to play a role during End of the Line. Now because Eiht quit, Rockstar decided instead of recasting him that they had enough lines to get Ryder to his ORIGINAL BETA DEATH, so they had no choice but to kill him in the same way except they decided to flip his death and stead of dying on the docks, they had you do the boat chase.

@@TheFloodFourm yeah DarkViperAU made a story explanation video about the whole witness protection situation But the basic explanation is this: Michael never went into witness protection cause he had no one to rat out because he was the mastermind of the entire operation in North Yankton, it wouldn’t make sense for him to offer the police information about Trevor when Trevor is below him on the crew hierarchy in the North Yankton heist. So Michael just faked his death and changed his name and used the money from the job to move to Los Santos, the reason he’s on government paperwork is because Dave Norton has his file still even after he assisted his fake death in North Yankton, and then the other corrupt FIB/IAA agents get in on it because they supervise Dave Norton (or something like that) so they also find out about Michael in the process And the reason Michael tells everyone that he’s been in witness protection is just because that’s the easiest way for him to explain his disappearance instead of trying to explain the truth to everyone
@BrickedUpp3 жыл бұрын
@@NeonTheWolf that’s not entirely it. Michael wanted to get out. He was tired of running and was getting tired of doing such a dangerous job when he had a family. The plan was for him to actually be put in witness protection, gets out of the life of crime and keeps his money and Dave gets the glory which in turn gets him promotions and moving up the FIB ranks for “killing” the most notorious bank robber at the time. While they (the public) didn’t know Michael’s identity as the bank robber they know of the robberies and the crew. The issue was davey’s superiors didn’t really know about the deal. Dave put Michael in WitSec on his own without prior supervisor approval that’s why Michael says they’d both be fucked if they found out. Same reason why Steve Haines can control Davey and Michael. While Steve is ranked over Dave the biggest problem is that Steve knows about Dave and Michael’s agreement and holds it over their heads having them do dirty work. They mention all of this in game over time. If you replay it and listen for these convos it makes sense. Michael even summarized this in a convo to davey I think, could’ve been Trevor. They were talking about how brad was never the one who was supposed to get shot.

My guess on when each of the three Ballas died. One died leading the ambush against Sweet either killed by CJ or betrayed by Tenpenny. Second died in San Fierro just before CJ hunted Ryder down. 11:00 It's a real shame and overlooked moment of Big Smoke. While pressed by Tenpenny to get Sweet out of the picture, Smoke is desperately trying to get Sweet in on the scheme to possibly save his life. Not that Tenpenny would likely care and would still find a way to get rid of Sweet. Tenpenny also has a demented mentality, kinda similar to Toreno's line "...we get to pick our dictators, degenerates WE control..." but is in denial about his corrupt actions. If Smoke was running the whole show of crime in LS, Tenpenny can then force Smoke to co-operate and let CRASH "shut down" any wing of the empire he needs at anytime CRASH is in need of a victory. He goes over this with his conversation with Hernandez in The Introduction, when he talks about "percentages" and letting some guys criminals get away with their crimes. come to think of it, the green sabre was used so that Grove Street suspects it was other Families chapter who did the hit, instead of, you know, Ballas.

Plus since this is a super old game alot of sprites are reused
@morgfarm13 жыл бұрын
@@BorgerEU Sprites probably isn't the right way to put it; someone like me that played some older games knows what you mean. But for anyone that spots this, It's re-use of character models - Before models were a thing. The best known early use and implementation of this is seen in the original Mortal Kombat game. Then, they were known as palette swaps on sprites, sprites themselves were some of the earliest forms of motion capture ever seen in the gaming industry. Again, it's basically character models *before* models were ever a thing. In Mortal Kombat, Bi Han's Sub Zero was a palette swap of Hanzo Hasashi's Scorpion. You'd see a similar thing in MKII but with more detail thanks to advancements in the technology. By the Time MK4 came out on N64, You started to see character models come into play, which would be a similar time period to when GTA:SA came around. Since the game was intended for PS2 and the classic xBox, they had to use DVDs to house EVERYTHING from music and code to textures and 3D Models. DVDs only allowed for a little less than 5GB of data. Not a whole lot of space there. Thats why textures look like garbage. In order to save space but still have a fair amount of diversity in the game world, more textures were used in place of using more models, so Yeah, you'd have an Emitt look-a-like because of that reusing of models and having textures placed over that model to try to get as close as one can to a different character - Though the model itself was the same, you'd have a texture for the old man (Emitt) and texture for a younger person (a random NPC), for example.
@BorgerEU3 жыл бұрын
@@morgfarm1 i read your last part and sure thats a good arguement but if they said it looks EXACTLY line Emitt Then that would have been just a recolored sprite
@morgfarm13 жыл бұрын
@@BorgerEU It's an identical concept, yes. But like I said, Sprites haven't existed in the better part of 15, possibly 20, years in mainstream game development. This would technically be considered a re-textured [3D] model. Again, very same idea, but the use of the term 'sprite' isn't technically correct anymore. As I said before, a true Sprite in gaming is a motion-captured 2D figure, EG, Mortal Kombat. It's a technical difference, that's all. The concept of palette swapping a given sprite and re-texturing identical models is the same practice, just with differing technologies.
