Vault 4 is actually rather nice despite their past, which it seems they overcame and survived something a lot of vaults couldn't do.

Screen Junkies did an Honest Fallout trailer. In the trailer, when Lucy and Max are smooching alongside the severed heads (as the DJ smiles), they say, "So strap in for a blend of satirical comedy, gruesome violence, and heart-felt emotion... sometimes all at once." It's crazy that Vault 4 wouldn't either have been issued extra fusion cores or scavenged/traded for extra cores with their surface teams. Unless their fusion core is somehow being 'topped up' by the rest of the crazy power generators we saw (like a rechargeable battery) then it will run out at some point naturally. It might be another century or so, sure, but it's not a problem you'd want to wait to happen before resolving.

fusion cores are somewhat rare post nuclear holocaust. also a lot of vaults didn't get spares like they should have.

You know it’s likely that Coop killed Tommy’s brother in self-defense? So far he’s often given people a chance to give him information and walk away, so it’s possible he did that and Tommy’s brother shot first. And Coop is experienced enough to know that Tommy would want revenge…but still gave him a chance to set that aside…but Tommy reached for the gun. I think Lucy has had an influence on Coop but he’s still a hardcore badass who is willing to do bad things in order to survive. As to the Brotherhood of Steel…complicated is an understatement. They are pretty self-serving across the games, with a few exceptions…in Fallout 4, the Brotherhood was very “humans first” and saw anything mutated as monstrous (including Ghouls who weren’t feral and Super Mutants who haven’t been shown in the show yet). I’m excited to see what happens in season 2!

One thing about Vault 4: Moldaver's followers didn't overtake the Vault or rescue the inhabitants - the Vault's inhabitants just took in refugees from Shady Sands, who worship Moldaver as a saviour for... their own reasons :) By the sounds of things, the revolution of the test subjects happened a very long time ago.

Yeah, the revolution of the test subjects probably happened within the first 20 years of Vault 4's operation... so probably a decade or so after the bombs dropped, just based on the age of the scientist that we saw in the ad with Coop, and then when we saw that same scientist in his last testimonial.

The drug could be Hydra, introduced in Fallout New Vegas in order to have a drug version of Doctors Bag. These restore health to crippled limbs, something a Stimpak won't do. When held at gunpoint, maybe he decided to add that extra little spice to it to make him a ghoul as well? Ghoulification is originally only supposed to happen from a solid radiation dose, and then not to everyone. Only ghoulification from "experimental drug" I'm aware of is Hancock from Fallout 4, so maybe that drug have appeared at the west coast by now? As for The Ghoul being "immortal", I don't think he is. Not unless they later explains it as such. Healing process isn't supposed to be that extreme, and he did mention "a drop in a bucket full of drugs" eaelier on, which to me suggests he was pumped full of drugs to be prepped for the fight. Med-X, Psycho, Buffout, Rebound, Steady, Jet, Hydra, X-Cell, Day-Tripper. A tactic I've used myself as I played at highest difficulty/hardcore mode, and self inflicted perma death (no reloads allowed).

Honestly, I don't blame Coop for shooting the kid in the shack. He gave that kid a chance to live through that. All the kid had to do was live and let live... but Coop read the situation and knew that if he walked out without calling the issue forward he'd have an enemy behind his back looking for an opportunity to drop him one day, and he'd prefer to have that issue settled immediately, whether that meant a quick-draw or a resolution that there was no feud. I'm not seeing a lack of humanity in that. I'm seeing foresight and empathy being applied in self-preservation.
