Samantha has been doing the Jake and Elwood revue thing for a few albums now. My gut feeling says that once her diva has her cake, she's gonna return to the power trio and send us all back to oblivion, again

I don't think so, what she does now is way bigger than the blues. With all respect for the blues, it's just a 1-4-5 formula after all. She has been digging deeper than that into songwriting. I do love the trio but what she does now has a bigger potential and more refined sound. At first I didn't get the horn players thing but the band is pretty tight now. Listen to Blame it on the moon. - trio version vs 2019... way bigger sound The "diva" thing is a well thought out move and whoever manages her (if it is still Rueben Williams) did an amazing job at turning her into a star. She isn't like that in real life tho'.
