Amazing guitar from my hero. He wrote the soundtrack on my teenage years.
@Diggerdog2nd2 жыл бұрын
This has always been my favorite guitar of his since back when it was his main in the beginning of the 80's. I was hoping he would pull this one out. He doesn't need the money. Why sell an iconic guitar like that when it was one of your favorites? I couldn't. My daughter can sell my favorites when I'm gone if she wants too.

I can understand why he'd get rid of a lot of those guitars, but if that black Les Paul has so much "sentimental" value being used on his most popular hits ....and used with his old pals on Arbraxas Pool,.........why would he want to let that go ?

I remember seeing him play a black Les Paul with a white pickguard. I don't remember seeing the tremolo though.

I believe this LP Pro had a P90 in the neck originally. Maybe modded for the sustainer humbucker. 🤔

I Love Neal Schon, but the years of touring must have taken a toll. How else could you buy a 1977 Les Paul in 1968? 8=) Its Ok Brother.. Its Ok.. ;-)

@@Diggerdog2nd The vid has been edited since, lots of cuts 35-40 where he said he got it in 68, and the title of the vid says it’s a 1977. The people who saw the original vid know what I’m talking about.. He also made pointy comments about Gibson using his mods on their new models. Maybe that prompted them to edit before Mark Agnesi goes after him.. 🤫

when you could fill Amazon warehouses with all the guitars you've owned in your life. You eventually sell some. You guys don't realize these dudes have had tens of millions of dollars of guitars in their lives. They only keep their absolute favorites and they still end up with hundreds.

@@thefilthygringo9228because it’s a popular guitar played by a legend and his mods are in it but you won’t see me paying that much probably someone who owns a collection store or in someone’s studio

It's surprising he would sell some of these guitars . Especially his main strat he used on Infinity and Escape . And this one as well .

Wow, Neal Schon found a way to break the space time continuum and find a hot tub time machine to get a 1977 Gibson Les Paul circa 1968
@danvelgtr2 жыл бұрын
I know from experience that a Whammy absolutely destroys a Les Paul . Kills the sustain and tone completely.
@williamdistasio93588 ай бұрын
I call BS. I have a Modded LP Studio model that I bought from a buddy years ago with a Floyd. No problems with sustain😂😂 It also addresses that all too common tuning stability problem with LP's. Gotta love that G string always going out of tune! Lmfao Overpriced and over fanboyed if you ask me. So much more bang for your buck from SO many other guitar companies, who give a shit about their customer base. If not for the Floyd, I'd throw it in a dumpster and piss on the piece of junk it is.

A Les Paul Deluxe has the thinner single coil pick ups in it.
@Diggerdog2nd2 жыл бұрын
Your right. He changed out the bridge first & left the original neck until like he said he put a Fernadez sustainer pick up in the neck. Several guy's surprisingly put double coils in their Deluxe. Ace Frehley's main LP on the first few Kiss albums had the same thing done to it.too. Don't know why they just didn't but Standards instead already set up like they wanted but there must be something special about a Deluxe.
@scottbowling582 жыл бұрын
@@Diggerdog2nd The cut out for the single coils is the same size for the p-90's too.
@tinyb69 Жыл бұрын
You could order a Deluxe, with humbuckers in it. Just not that not that many people did. I ordered my '75 with T-Tops, because I didn't like the sound of the minis at the time, Pete Townsend be damned. I think they were a $30 or $40 option. Also, the pickups that were standard in a Deluxe, were mini humbuckers that were originally built by Epiphone, and referred to as "New Yorkers". Gibson decided to use up the stock of those that they had remaining, when Epiphone production was moved to Japan. When Gibson re-released the Les Paul in 1968, The two options available were the "Deluxe", sporting mini humbuckers, and the Custom, which feature regular humbuckers. The mini humbuckers conveniently fit in the route for P-90's, and had a special trim ring designed for them. The "Standard", wasn't reintroduced until midway through the 1975 model year.
@scottbowling58 Жыл бұрын
@@tinyb69 So if you ordered a Deluxe with humbuckers, wouldn't you just be ordering a Standard?
@tinyb69 Жыл бұрын
@@scottbowling58 Basically, yes. But, it was considered a "Deluxe", because they didn't have a "Standard" model until late in 1975. Those, and many of the 1976 models, came with Standard engraved on the truss rod cover, and a Deluxe sticker on the back of the headstock.
