This was the first time I placed a futures bet on one of those "next coaches" props. I'd been tempted to over the years, but figured I'd rather put money on real games. However, this was such a guarantee that it was practically free money. Same with Hamlin "winning" NFL comeback player of the year

All of this "Justin has to take the next step" has it backwards. The Chargers defense has been bottom 3 in the NFL his entire NFL career. He has spent most of his time running for his life with no protection. His WRs are usually injured or old or not fast enough, and he has had absolutely no running game or TE available. It's a miracle he's done what he did. Any other QB and they'd have lost by a hundred points. And this nonsense about "every ball is hard and flat" -- just wrong, wrong, wrong. He can dip it into wherever. He can throw with touch and flair. He can do off-platform stuff that's Mahomesque. You've clearly not watched Justin Herbert play - just seen random highlights.

Charger fans are the toughest fans in the NFL! For decades we have watched absolutely loaded Charger teams come up short and under achieve. Then they leave beautiful San Diego where they were loved for LA where they are not even on the sports radar. But now, finally, a glimmer of hope. A coach who can not only scheme, but has the force of personality to change the culture of the franchise. I guess I'll renew my season tickets after all...

Chargers needed a coach that could elevate them. Someone to yell them when they made mistakes. Someone to tell them what to do. Staley wasn’t ready. Staley couldn’t help Herbert improve his game. Imagine this you are a young QB and your coach has less experience than you in the NfL how is that gonna help you? Staley’s chargers always felt short on the key moments.. this is a culture change. Monumental move for the chargers. Not expecting them to be among the best next year, but this is a long term project. And Jim can turn this franchise around like he did so many times before with other teams he coached in the past at pro football or college level

It funny even through all the injuries on offense & to himself the chargers with Herbert are top 5 offense since he was drafted in 2020. He can always improve but it's crazy that he still finished 5th in QBR, added nearly the same total EPA as Tua & Goff & he played 4 and half less games this year. Maybe the bottom 3rd defense was the problem all along 🤔

Mike Williams and Khalil Mack are going to be cap casualties this year, and possibly Joey Bosa as well, so there will be a lot of dead cap space on the books for 2024. In 2025 though, I expect great things, especially with a guy like Nabers or MHJ (hoping the Cards lose their minds and pass on him) as the pick in this year's draft.

As a raiders fan, I'm gonna be laughing at the LA raiders fans if the chargers start winning or win a super bowl in LA lmao.

Everyone is gushing about how well this is going to go! Who's got it better at U of M? No one! Chargers? It is a toss of dice if it will work. This is where Harbaugh looks stupid to leave the Wolverines. Taking all bets on this!

The charges aren’t the 49er team harbaugh coached. Mahomes/ chiefs will still own the AFC West.!!

Herbert did beat Joe Burrow head to head, he’s played toe to toe with Mahomes and Allen. Herbert was never the issue.

I wholeheartedly disagree, I think this is a bad marriage! First off, Justin Herbert is an introvert and so is Coach Harbaugh and he gets a lil weird.. That’s why the Vikings passed on him, now he is in a division with Sean Payton, Andy Reid, And NOW A YOUNG ENERGETIC COACH IN ANTONIO PIERCE! SO ITS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT AND DIFFICULT THIS TIME AROUND! JUST WATCH!! 🤦🏾‍♂️

The who’s got it better than us thing is so cringe, and the fact that it’s trickling into the NFL is even worse.

I'm stoked for Herbert. I think the Chargers can fix multiple problems by moving on from Keenen Allan and Austin Ekeler. Keenen is hurt too much (and expensive) and Austin fumbling too much. Both of these dudes are able to help with the salary cap issue if dumped.
