i honestly dont get why Netherrealm doesnt embrace HOUSE MUSIC/TECHNO for mortal kombat. house & techno fits MK like a glove but the game soundtracks are always a generic orchestral fake hans zimmer vibe. the best mk soundtrack to this day is still the 1995 movie and you'd think they'd lean into that more. and mk characters dont really have theme songs which is just SOOOO odd to me. like imagine if ken didnt have his theme songs.

They could easily fix this by also creating stages whereby said music would fit. I don’t think there’s as much of a soundtrack issue as you claim beyond the lack of character theme music and maybe tracks representing other genres or a mix of genres. That said , yeah I go to street fighter and Tekken when I need a banging soundtrack from a fighting game.

Tekken 8 launch trailer is straight up war and I love it. They pull a Final Fantasy 16, got everyone invested in the story mode through their Demo and proceeded to just show more and more of that as the release date got closer. This shits pure gas and I love it.

I'm looking forward to T8 but the launch trailer was underwhelming imo... By itself, it was probably the music choice. It felt weak and not as hype as it could've been. Sure it showed more story but it could have also showed all the other features available from launch. If I were an uninformed customer, I would have thought it was only pvp, story, and "avatar" mode.

Mortal Kombat 11s trailer was the most hype thing I ever saw for a fighting game before it launched. The presentation of the cutscenes, the story reviews with past characters coming back and interacting with their present ones, the gameplay going along with the music, and of course, the remix of the iconic Mortal Kombat theme blasting nostalgia throughout it. You couldn't ask for a better lunch trailer then MK 11. _Unfortunately, the game proceeded to come out and become straight dog water that failed to deliver on nearly every front from story to gameplay and even side modes but we don't talk about that..._

I think context matters. SF6 was generous with trailers leading up to the launch trailer and they had different goals. The actual launch trailer is fine but I think of them together. It's like Smash character reveals, they make a big difference and allow the laugh trailer to do it's own thing

Whenever I see that MK11 lauch trailer I get goosebumps, moreso than I would rather watch a full movie of this than play the game. It give me that same nolstagia feeling when the first MK movie came back in 1995 and with just recently last year with Scott Pilgrim animated trailer it uses the MK theme and it got me hype for that as well. Now granted MK11 when it came out It wasn't to everyones perseptive on that might not be a great game to them(as to you Max) but I still enjoy it for what it was. Kinda wished it was more than that with MK1 but the only nolstagia I got from that was the live action trailer that remade the first trailer back in 1992 but given the situation as of now I don't know, don't get me wrong I'm still playing MK1 but the atmosphere going with NRS and the community is at a brink right now.

Interesting that for all of them, I find their teaser, or first trailer much better. Because they’re extremely snappy and fit their style. Like the first SF6 gameplay trailer timed paced itself with the music really well and felt dynamic and exciting my tekken 8 had a hype track and just looked nice. Dudes I really love what they’re doing with tekken. All these elitists say that making the game easier to pick up is a negative. But as someone whose been playing tekken since 5 I love how they’re making the game more inclusive. Finally people are giving the game a chance and it’s great. It’s become less daunting. After tag 2 i thought there was no chance of a sequel game. But tekken is thriving better than ever. Harada is an absolute genius pushing new life into tekken and saving it.

I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a Fighting game launch.....I'm saying this as somebody who plays them casually since the early 90's and has always been more a street fighter fan. I've never owned a Tekken game but used to play them in the arcade and actually looking forward to owning one...playing offline, unlocking/customizing stuff and just learning the characters and figure out who I play best with. Hopefully this gets me to want to then start playing more fighting games as well...I like them, they won't ever be my main game, but I love having a nice 1-2 fighting games in the rotation to play every now and then. * Is older music available to earn/unlock in game?
