The French Revolution broke out on 14th July 1789 primarily because the winter had been very harsh and the wheat harvest in June had been very poor, as a result the people were hungry and angry that the elite, their masters, were living it up while they were starving. A similar situation exists in Britain today, not hunger, not starvation but anger, very deep anger that the masters are living it up while a very large portion of the population is in cire straits. It is unacceptable that those who, make the rules are earning 100s of thousands and the common people are experiencing hardship. I hope, just as in France in bygone days, a revolution breaks out, a soft non violent revolution but an uprising nevertheless.

It is important to acknowledge the compensation packages of executives in various organizations. For instance, Chris O'Shea, the CEO of British Gas, receives an annual salary of £8.2 million, along with a bonus of £1.4 million and a long-term bonus of £5.9 million. In comparison, the CEO of Thames Water has a base salary of £850,000 with an additional 12% pension contribution and a bonus of 156%, totalling £2.3 million. Additionally, the roles of Sue Gray or the Prime Minister come with significant challenges, especially considering the demanding nature of their positions and the scrutiny faced from the media. It is also worth noting that some journalists may also earn salaries that exceed those of the Prime Minister.
