Wherein Jesse needs to be reminded how to show emotion, cannot take me to Funky Town, gets lost in the lost woods, feeds the Empress, becomes concerned while diving into tulpamancy, and takes a long trip off of a roof.

1:07:45 Jesse's descent into madness starts here. I'm glad that Jesse explored the boiler room first and managed to get the Empress ending. Usually the game is a bit slow in it's introduction since it wants you to explore the school and the students first before exploring other areas. Here's hoping that Jesse still has that USB he carries around after playing Pony Island. Then again, I don't think that it'll be enough this time.

A tulpa is like a combination of a hallucination, an alternate personality, and an imaginary friend.
@Avohaj9 ай бұрын
Just to be clear, they took their hallucinations, alternate personalities and/or imaginary friends and labeled them tulpa probably because they saw it on X-Files.
@Eventide2159 ай бұрын
@@Avohaj Tulpas were in Supernatural which is where it really started to get a new following. In Supernatural they were basically just if enough people in a concentrated place believed in something it'd eventually become true. So like if there was a myth about an axe wielding murderer in the creepy shack in the woods and enough people believed that then there would actually be one there. The internet took it and.. as usual.. made it extremely weird. Also, a Tulpa in actual myth isn't just an imaginary friend, alternate personality, etc. It is when those things actually manifest into something real.

1:03:23, 1:04:10 In philosophy of mind, that idea is known as qualia, which is "the subjective quality of a conscious experience". Qualia is the reason why we can't know "how it's like to be a bat" without "being a bat". 1:10:00 Also, that tulpa rabbit hole is wild (it basically seems to be a "real imaginary friend"). Just when I thought it was over, you dropped "tulpa sex" on the table 😂

So the whole tulpa thing seems to be a method of giving the non-verbal hemisphere of the brain greater control. The consciousness is a interesting thing, lobotomized patients often manifest rogue limbs, that can write their own thoughts. IF I had to come to a rational explanation of this it would be a similar phenomenon, that or some form of dissociation.

1:10:15 I cannot believe you inflicted psychic damage on me with the pony tulpa phenomenon in fucking 2024. When I heard "Twi, Dash, and Scoots," the world froze around me for a second. I was AROUND for the birth of that shit. It was weird as hell then, and it's still weird as hell now. That wacky tulpamancy stuff has DEEP roots stemming from the MLP fandom. The /mlp/ 4chan threads were basically ground zero for this whole thing. So many wild tulpa stories end up originating from there. (Look up the Jackie Chan tulpa story for a good laugh.) It obviously expanded far outside the pony fandom, but that's just another thing you can pin on us for starting. And the scariest part is that it's not all bullshit. I know it sounds stupid and silly, but that's because you're somebody of sound mental health. it can genuinely get kind of dangerous when mentally unstable people start taking it seriously. It's some WEIRD mental fuckery. You're basically purposefully inducing schizophrenia. I know a guy who's old friend frequented those threads and eventually ended up committing egocide. Now he just IS his tulpa. Like, his entire self was overwritten with the imaginary personality he created. I do not recommend fucking with it.

Who's Lila, you say? Well, you should probably ask Jacob Geller. He knows who Lila is. I'm not sure that that's an angry face at 34:25. I'm pretty sure that's just Gut's neutral expression. ...okay, I was not expecting to hear about pony tulpas on this channel, even with the whole Chilluminati thing. I don't know if Brendaniel knows about this, but the concept would probably terrify him. Partly due to his witch experiences alongside his fellow PST alumni, and partly because he's an ex-brony.

I guess I had the plot wrong. with all the talk of "Other selves" and the plot being about somebody, assumed male, and entirely unable to express themselves I started to suspect that Lila was them. Understand that, with the rise in Trans hate in most of Europe (particularly eastern but also UK), I am hyper vigilant on encountering hatred and I tend to run away from the encounter rather than try to tackle it. I get very flustered and upset and inevitably "lose the argument" because i cant keep calm. I wont be checking back here. But I thought it best to apologise for the incorrect assumptions and the racism towards Russians as general Transphobes.
