I love the way lawyers think and I love this guy in particular. I watched his prior video with Francie, which was also super. Francie is doing a great job. She is a super addition to the Out of Spec business group. All the best.

One of the power rock groups in the 80's became known as prima donnas because their contract specified a huge bowl of m&m's with no red ones, in their green room. Just a few years ago one of the band members was asked about that story. He laughed and said "Oh that? We didn't care about the red m&m's. We just put that in the contract so as soon as we arrived at the venue, we could see if the producer had read the contract!"😮
@doodlebug182024 күн бұрын
It was more than that. They had extremely dangerous stage shows with light rigs and pyro and wanted to know the venue was being safe by being detail oriented

Jason is the Jackie Mason of the EV world. Great delivery on this Masterclass! Francie I like how you pulled info gleaned from your other podcasts and used it in this discussion. Really good, thought-provoking material.

We need 10-12 kWh ac chargers every place. That gives you 45-60 miles a hours. They are cheap like 10,000 dollars including installation cost. compared to dc charger 🔌 that cost 100,000 $- 200,000 $a unit . All you need is level 2 chargers 🔌 at grocery store gyms mall and convenience store that are cheap like .15-.25 cents a watt hour
@williampisano75732 ай бұрын
Some people use public chargers already and some are free but 6.6kwh and 8kwh does not cut it you need 10-12kwh chargers 🔌 tesla can charge ac at 11.5kwh that’s 54 miles in one hour at gym
@williampisano75732 ай бұрын
The average driver only drive 250 miles a week and you need 5 hours to charge a Tesla the 250 miles at 11.5 kWh. Work places should also install charger and they could charge fare market prices
@williampisano75732 ай бұрын
We do not need more fast chargers but slow chargers 🔌 for mass adoption or the dc 20kwh -40kwh at grocery store or gyms at low prices

Absolutely. This would make driving an EV a no brainer for almost everyone.

Please don't mix kWh (energy) and kW (power).

It would be great if you could interview a location manager that has gone through this process. And has dealt with an installation provider. There must be horror stories and funny stories as well.

EV infrastructure should be installed by government and car makers, another great podcast Francie keep up with great work ❤❤❤

I’ve mentioned this numerous times. How do we get Zef Energy in Minnesota to maintain their equipment? They occupy crucial “real estate” for much needed EV infrastructure, yet their equipment for the most part is not maintained and some haven’t worked for 3+ years

Are there any clauses in the law stipulating something like the stations receiving gov incentives have to keep at least an 80% uptime?

Government is talking about. People who put in or repairs chargers with government money. Must have the charger working for at least 10 years.

How can a mom & pop store who wants to put in charger using a CPO afford this expensive attorney? Legal fees probably cost more than the charger.

Francie, How do you manage to slip the word _y'all_ in _every_ video? It is 2/3 charming but also 1/3 alienating since I am around no one else who uses the word!

I want to know who is responsible for the EA chargers at the Sheetz in Bedford PA location. They can't keep all 6 up and running for more than a week..

Wth kind of diesel car need to refill the DEF outside of services? Never heard of this except for trucks. We call it AdBlue here and there are pumps for this at the truck diesel pumps.

Lesson of the day: have a good contract and be prepared to enforce it and do your research on who you do business with.

It sounds complex and costly. I can see less chargers being installed.

Holding companies accountable and building a charging infrastructure as reliable as fuel stations is the only way EV can go beyond novelty and bougie rich tech toys. Come visit Washington state especially eastern Wa and tell me its reliable then.

Rule #1 - don’t get in business with Charge Point

The economics need to work. Need to make money without subsidies.
@yayinternets2 ай бұрын
If you think that only EV subsidies exist, you aren’t very informed. There are plenty for fossil fuels as well. If you dig deep and understand why they exist, fundamentally it’s about having enough industry to be able to have independence from other countries. The subsidies around domestic fossil fuels and EVs both are around having energy independence from other countries.

So to sum up the 1 hr and 20 min pod cast, the answer is "Whatever is written in the contract". The lawyer dude just rambles on and on and on.

Look at Tesla charging model and the look at Charge Point. Tesla is successful and Charge point is not. I would never use Charge point unless there was an emergency. Requiring businesses to maintain chargers is a joke and will never be successful

Well duh, who OWNS it and what contracts did they make? (See Dr. Strangelove and the scene with the CocaCola machine.)
@johnpoldo88172 ай бұрын
Have you seen an operator’s contract to property owner? It emphasizes 10 yr exclusivity, no uptime guaranty, no response time for repair, and penalties for early termination. Profit sharing is defined as gross revenue less electricity cost, and less repair costs, networking fees, transaction fee, advertising, & sales tax. Notice how one sided it speaks !
