Being at the top of the podium has its Ups * Downs, but its no different than any other aspect of life. The real question is: Is L39ION really the "BadGuy" ? or are they doing *more for the sport than what we'd like to give them credit for... Whether you love them or hate them... lets talk about it!

Major Taylor dealt with similar haters 100+ years ago. When you're black and great at something the haters will whine and whine. Shout-out to the Williams brothers - winners don't whine!

I’ve had the fortunate chance to be around the L39ion team a few times over the past few years and had nothing but positive reactions and love from everyone. My youngest daughter is now 6. She met Justin at age 4 and I think to this day she hasn’t had a bigger smile than when he got down to her level and talked to her when there was a bunch of people around us and he took the time to have a conversation with a 4 year old. Not many in our world would do that. I am forever appreciative of Justin, Cory, and the team.

Honestly I do get where you coming from in your view of Legion. I know a few people who raced with him overseas. A lot of them say he is a nice guy, but very hard to deal with. I see them at the local crit practices, group rides and sort forth. They are nice to certain people not all people. Same with Corey, he is only nice to certain people. Cj their other brother is nice to everyone. A lot of locals get upset with them cause if something doesn’t go their way. The race card comes out, that is not cool. They can do all kinds of tactics to riders , pushing them into gutters, diving them, bullying breaks. But when it is done to them, they get really upset and start protesting to judges and sort forth Yes Justin has done some good for cycling. So have multiple other teams in America, now in 2024 it’s different. People are starting to taking it to Justin and Corey . They are not dominant as they use to be. So it’s interesting to see how they adjust , cause they are already saying “ there is no respect in the Peloton.” It’s not that there is no respect, it’s cause no one is scared to race them now.

As a whole do you L39ION is an asset to U.S. Crit Racing or a detriment? #RobbArmstrong

@@robbarmstrong8702 You can’t say legion as a whole. When you hear “ legion of Los Angeles.” Your mind goes to Justin and Corey Williams. With the recent suspension and stuff Justin has done. They are now a deterrent from the sport. Not taking away what they have accomplished in the past. There is a reason why he lost a few key players on the team this last year.

I feel completely different whole scenario. I do value your input and your opinion. I say “as a whole” because we cannot take pieces of them, it’s either all or nothing, 🤷🏽‍♂️ I believe they are an Asset to the sport. *SideNote and away from cycling I can understand the perspective of leading an entity and being on-top on your game. Folks will always come for you and every little thing you do will be scrutinized and under a microscope but… that’s part of being on top. I’ve led folks in all sorts of situations for stateside to overseas operations. No matter what you’re doing someone always has an opinion on it. Really appreciate your feedback and support for the channel big Bro, love the interaction l! 🖤 #RobbArmstrong

@@robbarmstrong8702 No definitely see where you are coming from. Me being a former Marine running point on missions . I see where you say the part of “ when you are on the top you will be scrutinized “. Rashan bahati gave Justin his start and mentored him. Does a lot for the community in giving back to the inner cities, took over a local crit series that was going away and revived it back. You feel the humbleness from him, with Justin and Corey a lot of people in SoCal don’t feel that from them so they get criticized a lot for it. Around the country they just don’t like them cause they are so dominant. When you are that dominant they want to see you fail. Love your channel dude, I love your view on things and keep it up man

Sad that you have to mute black skinned peopled by accusing them for "playing the race card". You put it like whenever they got criticized Corey and Justin "pull the race card". Black people always get to hear that nonsense. If racism is involved then calling it out is not "playing the race card". The term "playing the race card" alone is racist as it is usually used to shut up reasonable complaints or criticism. Instead of taking the feelings of a person serious you are immediately muting him. It really has become an automatism. A bad and toxic habit. To me it feels like they got overly harsh and disrespecting comments, always trying to attack their reputation and integrity. Always personal. Just based on people saying. It's really like a virus. There is no other riders in this sport that have to suffer that much. And there are other riders who really ride reckless, causing all those crashes. Nobody talks about them. Really, nobody cares. If it's a random white guy then he's just riding hard. Not worth commenting on it. If it's Justin or Corey then they ruin the whole sport or bringing disgrace to the sport, deliberately sending people to the hospital. Justin gives a shoulder check then everybody acts like this is something scandalous. Everybody who races knows that this part of the sport. And of course it's always exaggerated and biased. If you read comments (like yours) it reads like they are only riding dirty. And they are doing it by nature. And the whole sport is suffering from them. And nobody is allowed to call them out. Very very dramatic. With a touch of paranoia. I don't say you are one of those people who blatantly hate them. But I think you should acknowledge that this *is* actually happening. Some say it's because the brothers are famous and successful athletes, that are known world wide. Famous figures that single-handedly made US crit racing famous outside the US. Fine, that explains the attention they get. But sometimes I ask myself, would it be a different kind of attention? With a different tone? If they were not black? Would people be more in awe and show respect for the performing athlete instead of being so overly fixated to voice their aversion and defend their irrational hate? I mean who is talking about whether Mathieu van der Poel is nice to *everybody* or only to "certain" people? Nobody. nobody cares. This cycling scene is really odd at times. Time to reflect on how we act here.
