So glad to see Wraiths in TvT. That's how foreigners played TvT back in the early 2000s: Tank/Wraith/Turret with a large mineral bank and lots of turtling as we were too noob to use vultures properly 🤣

So what is crazy about Flash's game is he looks like actually winning even though he lost some point. In this game, (although he got lost anyway) Flash does had a slight advantage on his expansion and production while he lost in the vulture battle in the center, which led to a slight advantage on siege lining on the center. His optimization is on another level so those who don't know much feels like there's something magic going on his game.

I started watching your casts 6 months ago(I wish I could watch your streams but the TTS is just too much, lol). I'm new to watching Pro BW, and I missed the "Flash Era" so I find these streams very entertaining to see how someone known as a legend reacts to the new meta's. Honestly I would be fine with the next 10 streams all being flash vs X. I can't wait to see how he adapts and gets back in shape.

What happened in g2 was that Flash had a 5 worker lead for a significant time in the midgame, while taking his expansion considerably earlier and on location. If you are cutting scvs, at least you ought to have more map presence that your opponent cannot expand on location directly. This was shut down by Flash's earlier transition to siege tanks, I suppose Flash might have had more money to build SCVs while the second machine shop was building - idk from this cast where the scv lead came from, but both cut worker a little bit, but Flash was just ahead by 5.

Idea: hand and brain SC1. One player is played by actually two players. One controls micro and macro while the other dictates the plan. Build order, what to do and so on. In this way players that are strategically good, could actually pair with players that can deliver mechanically. So the player that is in control focuses on delivering via APM, while the player that is watching decides the meta, freeing the APM player of a decision layer. In that way one could see if Light really can consistently deliver (provided that he pairs with a player that can execute his plans)

I haven't played in over a decade, but I used to mix in 1-2 wraiths regularly in every matchup. Do they ever accomplish much? No. But your opponent is going to have to do something to respond to it, and it's generally limited to 2 or 3 different practical responses, all of which end up either costing more than those wraiths cost, or having my opponent choose some sub-optimal army choice or an unexpected expense which ultimately delays certain tech or upgrades upgrades to deal with those wraiths. As an example, in TVP with opponent going shuttle/reaver: wraiths don't show up early enough to be effective against the initial reaver harass, but I've found that once you show you built 1 or 2 wraiths, your opponent is much less likely to continue trying to harass when you have 2 wraiths compared to several turrets. And 2 wraiths are cheaper than those turrets. Plus they have to either put cannons to prepare for cloaked wraith harass as a possibility, or build a couple of extra observers themselves. I love seeing pros make use of wraiths in modern play. I always felt that they weren't used to their full potential.

Love it. Those 2 Terran players really have different playing styles. First of all, Light, very good in building wraiths and built up his armies with many units combined. Flash, on the other hand, he likes making sudden attacks such as drops and some counter attacks. Nice match up.

I think I know what triggered them to not go 5 fact and pump out vultures, and it's that it feels like some sort of horrible coin flip. Sure Light got the advantage and won that game, but he probably knows it's just as likely he will lose that way as it is he will win, so it just feels like gambling.

Its got to be Soulkey with back to back ASL victories compared to Light who went out in the Ro24 in ASL 16 and Ro16 in ASL 17, and Snow who went out in the Ro16 in ASL 16 and lost to Soulkey in the Ro4 in ASL 17. I don't think a player has ever been as strong in any era of BW as Soulkey is right now.
