So a thing with the PCL could be that other teams don’t send their young pitchers to the PCL. I know for sure the Mariners don’t Kirby Hancock Miller Woo all didn’t touch AAA before making the majors. Gilbert is the only one and it was for a short time and he pitched well anyway. And I wonder if Emerson moves to third full time if he could end up as one of the best prospects in the game. I just love all the improvements he’s made this offseason.

If players cannot bet on games they are involved in, why can owners offer incentivized contracts that are essentially parlays? You hit 35 homeruns, you get an extra million. Essentially the owner/gm is gambling a million dollars the player will not reach that milestone. It's a contractual gamble. Have we not all heard stories of players being sat or put on ILs to not let the player hit certain incentive milestones? How is that not also considered as compromising to the integrity of the game as player gambling? Seems ironic the billionaire owners can gamble all day long and manipulate players' playing time and availability (think service time manipulation) to make sure they hit their "parlays" but we are all so scared some average guys and minor leaguers are betting on baseball...

Gambling is an addiction for some sadly. I don't think it's a case of Marcano needing money, it's a case of him needing that adrenaline rush, and there is a rush that you get watching a game when you have something on it, it's not unlike a drug. I don't think you need to feel like there's a conflict of interest since you're sponsored by BET MGM. You guys always mention about problem gambling and this is what Marcano has an issue with. Gambling itself is not a bad thing but some can't moderate their gambling, and can't partake in it at all, particularly if it's destructive to their professional lives.

frequent listener - never have commented.. Dont love the take on gambling. I don't think the majority of players, particularly Latino players, have been properly educated on the consequences of their actions participating in gambling on games. These are guys coming from a situation where very few of them have ever had money .. weak prospective boys.
