For all those men out there that faint during the birth of their children, let’s just give cattle men a big thumbs up for being specialists in birthing. Nothing fazes them, shoulder deep, covered in birth , blood and poop. I admire their expertise and hands on dedication. Good job.

I really appreciate that your children are so involved with the work on the farm. It is great that they have their own cattle.

Guys, I like your building. All that natural light instead of dark even with artificial light. I am sure this helps when working the animals and good for the people as well. Good job!

Really enjoying your videos. Used to have Shorthorn cows. Loved thier color, especially the white roads. Great dispositions. Sadly, around here everyone has been brain washed, if they're not black, they're not any good. They bring considerably less, if they're not black. Again, enjoy your vodeos.

Thanks, glad your enjoying the videos. I feel your thoughts regarding black cattle. I'm loving our shorthorn simmental cross.

If the calf is being sold for meat, what does it matter what color its hair is? After all, all meat is red!
@TwinElmFarms Жыл бұрын
@Cricket2731 in my opinion/ understanding, the color of hair doesn't mean the meat tastes better. But for some reason black calves bring more money at auction.

Yesterday I had a cow push out a calf like when you step on a McDonald's ketchup packet.... We paid big bucks for an easy calving bull, but this is getting ridiculous.

Hope it continues for you. We have helped 15 percent this year and besides the c section ones, (which were both bought) most pulls have been pretty easy.

Why valve outside?
@TwinElmFarms Жыл бұрын
When the temperature is decent and the calves don't freeze, outside has more air movement, fresher air.

The mama cow that you pulled her calf out and the mama went down for a few minutes. Why in the hell did you kick her??!!! You just pulled a big calf out of her she needed a few minutes to compose herself. I wish she would’ve kicked you until you fell on the ground! Take better care of your animals!JS
@stevecobb784411 ай бұрын
Even though you hate to disturb an animal that is lying down, it's the only way to see if it is ok. The cow has to be able to get up. How else do you check that? From the videos I have watched, I think these people take very good care of their animals.
@SuzieQ-z6h Жыл бұрын
they dont have to kick the mothers when they lay down, or push the calf to hurry it up or separate from its mum, all money making speed i shant watch another video, the 1st 20 mins was enough

We only keep them in a pen until they have bonded with their calf or until calf is ready to go outside.
@thesingleequestrian413 Жыл бұрын
Some heifers hormones get them a little to excited with their babies and they might need to be separated or the calf could get hurt. Stalling them for a bit is no big deal.
