perfect Rush was inctroduced with Iceborne and elevated the SNS from a jack of all trades to a powerhouse that has only range as a real downside and mid weak-ups (you can do the last hit of the perfect rush but is finniky... or you could simply go for a perfect rush and treat it like an extra knockdown).

Defenseless is learning the greatness that is the SnS. It’s my main weapon. I have a few tips: -You can backhop outside of a combo too by guarding, holding back on the stick, and pressing B. You also get s for nearly the entire backhop animation if you didn’t already know, making it a good choice to dodge an attack with, then counter into Perfect Rush. -Metsu Shoryugeki is a switch skill that swaps out the Windmill. It’s a Shoryuken with a Guard Point counter that deals a ton of stun and damage if you use it on the monster’s face.

The ninja sword is a really sick sns that you can make some crazy builds with since it has 100% affinity

Sns is such a well-rounded weapon. I think that's why it's pushed as the beginner weapon. It has a tool for every conceivable situation, so you can familiarize yourself with the most mechanics in the least weapons, while still being simple enough for newcomers to pick up and play

You should use more b combos, one without touching your move stick is a blade combo with great damge and one with move stic is a shield combo that do stun dmg and dont use sharpness, ater all combos u can use y+b for finisher spin attack but if u do it mid combo it will be weaker. I usualy only use perfect rush when monter is downed or stuned and do quest for metsu shoryugeki its very strong counter.

Got it so for clarification the Y combo is more sword and less damage and the B combo is more shield and ko damage with higher numbers

That wirebug attack (AKA the Shiruken) also counts as a parry, so if you put slugger into your build and use that bitch as a parry? Oh damn you'll be killing it. Just a small tip :)

I enjoy watching someone else trying new weapons since myself I play with all the weapons an it’s fun watching the learning curve of each weapon sns is a well rounded weapon if you can’t understand the novice or expert techniques you can literally just spam an do just fine without really understanding the weapon which is such a beginner friendly weapon an has a lot of versatility to it

Yeah it’s a supper spam heavy weapon and I feel like it has been extremely forgiving

@@defenseless_me yeah it’s a very forgiving weapon that just makes it fun you can just brainlessly spam an be successful but once you learn the combos it gets even better

i don't see anyone else mentioning it but when you do the sliding slash and scale the monster you can also do a shield drop which does stun and a ton of damageeeee. i love watching this btw i main sns and its so great to see others use it too!
