I'm a big fan of Sierra Boggess's performance of Christine, but I was absolutely stunned by Nicole Scherzinger. I've never heard her sing before, but the clarity in her voice was incredible. Obviously, every one of these ladies is an absolutely brilliant performer!

For the original instrumentation and vocal arrangement my favorite on this video is Sierra Boggess. For the metal instrumentation with new vocal arrangement my favorite is Tarja Turunen. I actually find the original version too repetitive in the final part, so I tend to prefer the shorter arrangements that actually lead to a similar note (Eb6 is just side by side with E6 on a piano... Plus, in Tarja's case, she already hit sustained E6 notes Live, on other ocasions, so I suppose it was optional, and I find Nightwish's version very creative, even Andrew Loyd Webber loved it!). Sarah Brightman of course is the original singer, and she'll always have the credit for that too, even if I prefer darker toned and fuller voices, thats why my choice for the original arrangement version was Sierra Boggess (Sarah's voice seems to be a bit thinner and lighter than Sierra's).

They're all amazing. One thing I noticed is that I would say four of them (especially the first two) definitely approached it a bit more..classically, so there's a lot of really wobbly vibrato...which is expected, so not a complain there. But my personal preference is the ones that felt a bit more streamlined, so I prefered Nicole's and Floor's, although it's true it seems that Floor's was maybe pitch-corrected a little?

Each lady is amazing. Of course, Sarah is the original vocalist of this one, and thus it was made for her voice. It seems that even with age she can still do it, which is amazing! Sierra has soooo much control and it seems soooo effortless, astounding. Tarja. Such power in her voice, such weight in the notes, AND she was very sick during the End of an Era concert, so, really wow. I've seen more recent fan recording of her singing this one, and oof. That last note always gets me. I was obsessed for the longest time with this performance, I'll admit. A part of it was Tarja, a part was the arrangement that amped the drama up, and MARKO. Need I say more (you will be missed). Akane, well, this is the first time I hear her, honestly, and I'm really enjoying her voice. You can hear the difference in her technique compared the the ladies that came from Europe or the US. I hear it in how her vibrato is used? Quite amazing. And Floor. She does not go as high as the other ladies, but she freaking sustained that note FOREVER. 8s I think? And the build-up to that note was epic. When I first watched the recording of Henk and her performing this, I litterally was jumping around and squealing in my seat, and when it ended, my face was very hot and I could not stay still. The way they both interacted with each other, the drama of the performance with the rain getting into the tent and all of it was just *chef's kiss*.

The only one I enjoyed is Tarja's. Props to the others who hit the correct note, but their voices are extremely constricted and tiny compared to Tarja's. Tarja's fuller Eb was more enjoyable. Floor's Beste Zangers performance isn't a fair comparison imo since it was autotuned so much. One of her Christmas Metal Symphony performances would have been better!

I've always preferred Sierra to Sarah, its always just been more enjoyable to my ears. And performance wise too, it sounds more natural and like it was just willed out of her easily in a trance. Floor D6 what 6-8seconds ? even tho some of the others have had more classical training perhaps than Floor her range and ability to hold a note at the same clarity and resonance is just incredible & I'm not all that sure she was trying very hard.

I love Floor's version too but please don't forget that others use vibrato on that high note. Floor's D6 is a straight note.

@@caiolucas8257 not really. The fact that Floor doesn’t use vibrato on her D6 and with the amount of time she holds it, it’s probably just as hard, if not harder to sustain it. It’s also a personal choice. Someone as experienced as Floor knows her voice very well and masters all the techniques that are required. She chose to perform this song in a less operatic way, make it her own with a little twist. You know Floor studied at the Rock Academy, studied Music Theatre and opera for a full year + all her 26 years of performing live. She knows her stuff, so if there’s a difference in her performance it’s by choice, not by lack of training.
