I don't know as much about Jimmy Martin as maybe some other people do, but intuitively, I love the guy just because he's so bombastic and hilarious. It does make me sad to see that he was his own worst enemy.

I personally never believed the fairy tale about Bill's July 9 mandolin. They made an extremely good copy and gave that to him. I just don't believe that you can take an instrument that badly damaged and have it play again, special epoxy or not.

Jaco's bass got put back together, but the pieces were glued to a fancy top and it's unrecognizable. Also, 400-500 year old Violins get repaired and maintained all the time. A mando. top cut up like that, with the two deep gashes taken out...Looks like it wouldn't bear the pressure of the strings and bridge would require some serious bracing and additional support.

?? Who’s doing your animation? Casting the fishing line shot was excellent! Thanks

Thank you so much. I learned how to animate just for the podcast. The fly fishing cast took 3 days to draw and was the hardest shot by far. I actually had to start over halfway through because I accidentally started drawing it without our spacesuits on. The script says: [Hayes casts his line], it was a lot easier to type those 4 words than it was to animate it. Lesson learned.

Just finished reading "Can't You Hear Me Callin': The Life of Bill Monroe, Father of Bluegrass". Decent read.

Mandolism!.. It's just wrong!! The "Vernon" in question, was most likely Vernon Derick - he was Jimmy Martin's mandolin/fiddle player.

Maybe put the tagline story first and not 32mins in.
