She went live and did a q&a: 1. She haven’t forgiven him or herself yet 2. She took full accountability and knew she was a damn fool lol 3. She said he use to pretend to log into his bank account and then would show her his phone (but it was actually just a screenshot of an account from Google) 4. She was able to go through his phone one night when he was sleep and found all the screenshots he kept showing as “proof” 5. She’s been in and out of therapy since this happened 6. She didn’t think/know her story would blow up! And she’s veryyyy overwhelmed with all the new attention/backlash from social media 7. She lost the baby in June but they didn’t get married until the following January. Only because she felt like she was sinning because they were “shacking” Tyler Perry could neverrrr give us a storyline like this 😂😂

Her being a fat black woman is the entire story. She fell for this because everyone has told her indirectly or otherwise that she is not worthy of protection and patriarchal financial support. I remember my father telling me " You think a man would take care of you?!" When I found just that, I felt like I had achieved something. I may be fat and black, but I am loved and cared for. I felt like being kept was my biggest middle finger. It took me a long time to decouple my self-esteem from masculine desire. Tragedy or not, it's a burning house, yall. You are the only person who can give you the worth you desire.

A lot of ppl struggled with keeping up with the story because we are living in a generation that doesn’t read or research. Instead, we want everything fed to us quickly because we have so much other content to consume. I study literature & there was a time Charles Dickens released parts of one book little by little. People during that time waited on it because their attention span was better. I think this is a larger conversation we need to have. How much are we consuming and why can’t we sit through 10 min detailed videos?

I also agree with your latter point about 'short-' versus long-form content; so many people want to revert back to long-form content but do so in a gimmicky, short-form way that gets them more engagement across their channels. It makes me very disinterested when I would normally be very interested because I'm not invested enough in a random person to endure a 'to be continued...'. Like you said, this is not some syndicated series that reaches millions and is already established with the audience; this is a random person most of us don't know who has a story that may or may not be interesting enough to engage people. Nah, she wasn’t dedicated to being a Christian. She felt convicted because of how she was raised but moving in with someone after two weeks is not dedicated to your faith. She owned her mistakes but it wasn’t due to her being a Christian. That’s an insecure issue that’s pushed on many women as we age and are not married or have children.
@sage-luxe119811 ай бұрын
Right? She remembered she was Christian when she got pregnant lol
@kia.20311 ай бұрын
Exactly. Thanks for saying this because sis, even though she claimed Christianity, she wasn't living that way. She shacked up with this man, got pregnant by this man, and still continued to live like that for a whole year, before she got married. I honestly wish she kept God out of it, because God was nowhere in the midst of that. I feel like saying" im a Christian ", is the fallback to justify behavior/decisions that isn't logical, and its annoying at this point. She should have just said " I wanted live-in D, I was desperate, therefore, I allowed myself to play the fool for this man ", without the mention of religion. Because even when she found out all this was a lie, it wasn't until she saw evidence of him cheating with peaches , that she was ready to file for divorce. I was aggravated

She had to repeat things a bunch of times because i hate to say it but sometimes the viewers can be a little slow so the creator has to remind them of things a bunch of times. For example, people keep saying she stayed because she was desperate and paid all the bills like this is some of groundbreaking observation: she literally said this a many times throughout the series. Next, I don't blame her giving the side stories and extra details. Commenters always try to poke holes in peoples stories.

incorrect. she never said she stayed because of that. she made excuse after excuse. she said she stayed because she didn't want to look bad, she wanted to make her marriage work, etc. she never used to word "desperate". never said she stayed cause she was in love or anything. she wanted a token husband, he wanted someone easy to manipulate

Well, from the beginning you could tell that she just really wanted to be in a relationship , IN GENERAL. He was moving fast right out of the gate ( typical love bombing ) and she didn’t have the discipline or emotional control to slow it down. So, that already made her the “perfect victim.” She saw what she wanted to see until she didn’t want to see it anymore. Because everything she should have seen was right in front of her. It happens. Rose colored glasses are real. She admitted that in her own way. Better late than never because it definitely could have been worse. He’s clearly capable of making it worse

Reesa says in one of the parts that she demanded he show her his accounts. He showed her checking n savings accounts but refused to show her the "offshore" account. He faked a call with a fake uncle( the uncle is actually gone) n the uncle told him never show his offshore acc to a woman. And he said his ex-wife saw all his accounts n tried to use it against him. That's a lie. And the checking n savings accounts were screenshots from Google. What he showed her I recall was like 10k in one n the other had 9600. I can't remember the exact numbers but something like that.
