Banijay Crime - Crime Documentary

Күн бұрын

Diane Beasley thought she had found love with John Smith. After a short courtship, they tied the knot. All was well, until the FBI showed up. John stood accused of murdering his first wife, and was suspected in his second wife's disappearance.
A biography about real people who marry their "soulmates", until they learn that the person they thought they married, isn't who they say they are.

This could just be me, but I think we as women are raised to believe that marriage is the ultimate accomplishment for us. You can have a great career, earning 6 figures, healthy and happy but people will still ask you when you’ll ever find a man 😒 this is why women like Diane foolishly run into marrying a man after barely knowing him for 6 weeks (post 3 divorces might I add) come on!

I am afraid that this case is different. Diane isn't the one with the great career. Let's face it. She was marrying the money, the nice cars and real estate. I always had a test for guys who tried to rush me along in a relationship, wanting to move in within weeks. I'd tell them no, that I'd have to know someone for at least 3 years before I'd even consider moving in with them (when in fact I never wanted to live with anyone again, after I escaped a violent marriage). They would be shocked and dismayed that for me the situation wasn't as urgent as it was for them. And they only lasted about 9 months once they knew they couldn't manipulate, control, guilt trip or emotionally blackmail me. So put that to them if any new partner starts pushing you into a commitment before you're ready - that you will give them a 3 year trial, then you'll consider it, lol.

@Apan Snoppen They are attracted to women who have all the qualities they lack - empaths for one thing. The trick is to catch them early on, before we commit. But this takes years of experience and maturity. If they are pushing for commitment too soon that is the first red flag, and if they are possessive and pushy after only one or two dates......but even then it can be hard to get rid of them. I see a lot of derogatory comments about Diane here. For sure she should have waited longer to marry him, etc., but this habit of blaming the victim is part of the problem. There are women who marry men they have known for ten years who end up getting murdered by their husband, and there are women who marry a man they have known just for a few months who are happily married. John Smith was a con and a murderer, and that was not Diane's fault. Stop being assoles and blaming her.

@@gaiagreen2690 Exactly. I've long stopped counting how many times I've been told to get married and breed. When I mentioned wanting to work on the railroad, I got "just get married and have a son then he can work on the railroad"! - Never married, been working on the railroad for over twenty years...
