The best part in the interview in this episode is where he mentions that Rahman is not at all obsessive but rather reluctant to sing his own songs and so reluctant that he takes days or months and so many persuasions from the side of lyricist or director to make him sing it! 🙏 Glad to see it called the Moment of the Day! Everything he said about pre and post Rahman era is full on 💯% true! Ofcrs, copying the genius or even the class of ARR is undeniably a daunting task for any composer, no matter the era!!

Non lip sync'ed Rahman songs that have gone on to become all time classics: 1. Luka Chupi (Rang De Basanti) 2. Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera (Swades) 3. Thamizha Thamizha (Roja) 4. Viduakathaiya (Muthu) 5. Vetri Kodi Kattu (Padayappa) Some of these I can instantly recall. There must be more. Lip syncing may not be so crucial for the song to become famous.

Yes O2...bring more lyricist to the show..they have the feel of the exact current to catch the vibe of all composers.. .. great job O2..

What he says about rap is very true....rap was born from revolution, and is the voice of rebellion....and we've reduced it to inane stuff about drugs, alcohol and the physicality of the female form.... Nothing against the form and perhaps it's a function of what sells, but time we elevated the poetry.... On a completely unrelated note, the use of Ranga Ranga is brilliant.... You've seen something like this in Slumdog millionaire and Couples Retreat as well ( say na na song)

@NadirAli-i9c Rap is something I will never get around with. I liked the telugu portions but not the rap parts.

I couldn’t get one thing here is why Anu Malik and Yo Yo Honey Singh’s images were put on the cover photo and then also titled as mindless copycats and rap stars! Is it done to create curiosity or is there any footage related to Anu Malik and Honey Singh been covered in this episode is a mystery here…!!

I am a die hard Rahmaniac, but questions like, 'do you feel the indian music industry can be categorized as pre-Rahman and post-Rahman?' is too much. Feels like you are diefying him. He is a great human being not a God

It’s undeniable. Compare any song from before Roja, Thiruda Thiruda, or Bombay, and you’ll find that none come close to the sound, melody, and rhythm of A.R. Rahman’s compositions. While most 90s songs now feel outdated, Rahman’s music from 25-30 years ago remains timeless and can still rival tracks produced with today’s advanced technology.

@@SamarKhan-zz9zb Absolutely, still we can find freshness in the songs...The music instruments used & technology used by ARR in 90s is way ahead of time, catchy tunes may be fast numbers or Carnatic or romantic duet songs all were surprising & unimaginable...the entire album which used have minimum 5 to 6 songs which are of different genre of music we used to listen in cassette player in loop...

I have been hearing ARR song since his debut. There is no tiredness and no thing that I felt that I should look for different. His music gave everything what a music lover want. Take any album of Telugu from last 5 years and listen carefully. Take 5 years of Hindi etc. Now take ARRs last 1 or 2 years. You will realize the difference. When I have to speak I can always say before and after ARR.

Either you guys play songs or let us watch the interview. It is so frustrating when song keeps coming after every 10 seconds between the interview.

I kinda liked the transitions, but I agree that it could be less frequent. I originally felt it was to provide context, but I find it's been utilized as fillers in some parts.
