Having Jamaican heritage, I am more pleased that there was representation than anything else. It’s a kid cereal so it’s meant to be fun, and the Cinna-mon character was the protagonist so nothing wrong there. In other words, looking at the character IN CONTEXT he’s fine and he’s obviously well-liked since we’re all here in the first place. I loved those commercials despite never having had Apple Jacks in my life!

I don't see how in any way cinnamon's character is meant to be stereotypical. I mean yes if they had him do anything messed up BECAUSE he's Jamaican, or something like that I'd understand. But Him just having the accent, dreadlocks, and character seems like a stretch to call racially insensitive. But also getting uptight about apple being a bad guy at the beginning is just laughable as well. Idk how ppl could allow themselves to try their hardest to get offended at things or view something as "problematic".

Man…. Kellogg just shoot their foot on this one. Not only that they hide a voice actor who is voiced by a real rastafarian, but also they sucked the soul out of the Cinnabon character. First his dreadlocks, (Which I guess is fine.) but now they got rid of his hat? Are you kidding with me Kellogg’s? You wanted to support black lives all for this? Trying to fix something that works and then breaking it just for the sake of fixing whatever? He is this true representation? This feels very backwards then forwards. If black panther’s voice and acting with such an accent is kept by showing true representation, then why the hell do they stop making commercials and hide the true voice actor itself if this one isn’t white anyways?! If it’s a white guy voicing it, sure I can see why it could be a problem. But since it isn’t, this is a mistake. Anyways, I’m glad the voice actor is found and perhaps one day they will make a commercial for him but also shows where Cinnamon comes from for his background. And also one last thing, bright back the hat and maaaaaybe the dreadlocks. But mostly the hat since I don’t see a problem with a hat. :)

Race based canceling in voice acting is a really bizzare concept and I think really inappropriate. In the end it's the script writer making the character, why is the voice actor to be hung for being able to fit the roll? It is of course a joke to say a voice actor must visually depict the character, every cartoon with male children is voiced by women generally, for example

I wish Apple Jacks replaced the mascots with the female Kangroo and her baby from the frosted flakes old contest. The Cinnamon mascot now reminds me of Apple and Onion due to him wearing kicks.
