Very helpful! I rarely ever hear anyone ever use the word whom and I generally dont have many difficulties speaking english and grammar and vocabulary and all that stuff, but I think theres no such thing as perfect and you can always improve so while I did know which pronouns to use as in him vs he or they vs them but I didnt know the rest of the things in the video and I believe this will help me improve my grammar. Thank you very much!

This was helpful to know how I'm supposed to use whom - but having only lived in countries where English was the first language, I've honestly never encountered a single person in my entire life who uses the word whom, so I'm not going to bother.
@islahartel93045 ай бұрын
No one uses it cause honestly, we don’t get it. It’s only needed for testing purposes.

But whom isn't used after a preposition in "whom did you take to the beach". You said it's always used after a preposition???
@_hanagamin69644 жыл бұрын
Thanks
@teacherkellyreis3 жыл бұрын
Great! But 5:20, not ALWAYS. "Whom did you take to the beach?" "That friend whom you took to the beach last time is such a nice person." no prepositions there, it depends on the verbs!
@EasyTeachingNet3 жыл бұрын
You're right that's not exclusively used after prepositions, however it is always used after a preposition (in that 'who' is never used after one) 🙂

You say in this video, whom is always used after preposition. But,a few second ago,u write this sentence, whom did u take to beach? I am confused. Please help me when to use whom and when to whom.
@EasyTeachingNet2 ай бұрын
After a preposition, it is always 'whom' rather than 'who'. However, after a preposition is not the only time 'whom' is used. We can check by answering the question- if the answer is 'him' or 'her' (rather than 'he' or 'she'), 'whom' is used. To apply that to your example (Whom did u take to beach?), we could answer it with 'I took him/her to the beach.' We wouldn't answer with 'I took he/she to the beach.'
