So inspiring dear Ms.Toussant-Brock, I shed tears of exhilaration at Colby Ives experience and the other episodes in your talk and pray that our Lord bestow upon you many more years of His good pleasure to relate such episodes with such perfection. I am now 96 and my wife Parvati 95 and gradually "winding up". May you with brilliance and effervescence long continue to exhilarate minds and hearts in name of our Lord..

Thank you so very much for sharing these marvelous stories of the Beloved Master, 'Abdu'l-Baha, with us all!! Fascinating as well as humbling indeed ! What an Exemplar He was to us struggling and imperfect Baha'is!

After being a very engaged Baha'i for over 60 years, I only recently read Portals To Freedom for the first time ... and I was enthralled. It was a copy I inherited from my parents. I intend to give it to a Lutheran minister, a close freind with whom I recently finished a 1 year Book 10 (The Covenant of Baha'u'llah) study circle with. Now hearing this talk by the author's great grand daughter was so very sweet!

Try reading the Bible, Gods word... Jesus is the only way to ever lasting life. Jesus God in the flesh!!!

@@alisonquinto5179 I do read and refer to the bible frequently ... and completely agree Jesus is the only way to ever lasting life but probably in a way that's different from you. Reading the Baha'i writings provides an amazing perspective on Christ and Christianity much in the same way the gospels provides an amazing perspective on Moses and Judaism.

Hi Erica. Nice to see you here. Just discovered your series. In Santa Fe, Muriel Ives Barrow Newhall told me I MUST go on pilgrimage in 1972, and I did. I had already read "Portals to Freedom." Thank you for your personal sharing. Greg (ATL)

☀️. ‘Every Soul we meet is a letter from god...’. There’s nothing more joyful than true words of guidance spoken so well and passionately loving for what’s there to be loved. Thank you very much! And thanks to ‘Baha’i Faith Modern Perspectives’. Keep up the good work! Love it. Greetings from Salzburg/Austria. Robin

Erica, I have enjoyed this lecture. FYI, Baha'is of Frankfort are planning a reunion when the pandemic resides.

‘Abdu’l-Bahá had a fierce temper. He was inclined to slap people in the face. In one case the turban of a man he slapped came off his head. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá excommunicated and shunned most of his family from the Baha'i religion, classing them as "covenant breakers" etc. He then disinherited quite a few of them and cast them into poverty. (‘Abdu’l-Bahá had access to quite an income.) He was theatrical about being "charitable." He passed out coins, possibly silver dollars, in the bowery of New York City. I have read that one of his daughters died and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá was unaware that she was even sick. (Because he was so busy being "savior to the world.") After he got to know a lot of rich women in the eastern USA (suffragettes, most of them) he started inserting "equality of men and women" into the Baha'i Faith though it does not exist in the "three central scriptures" of the Baha'i Faith. Some believe ‘Abdu’l-Bahá had a man poisoned in order to acquire his wife, who was married to that man.
