Great narration but minor errors. I was posted in Kashmir Valley and know her and her history. Pandit Dina Nath was a Kashmiri Brahman (Pandit). This is an extremely tiny community (about 400,000 as of now) and many intellectual giants military commanders and great political leaders have emerged from this community including Mrs. Indira Gandhi. As is well known today in Kashmir Valley all genuine Kashmiri Muslims are converts from Aryan Central Asian Hindus (of different castes though) to a fine religion the Semitic Islam, hence the Pandits and Muslims are the same people. In fact all genuine Kashmiri Butts (Bhats) whether Muslim or Hindu are of Brahman origin. The great Iqbal was a Butt. Where the narrator makes an error is that Kashmir was a part of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Sandhu's Empire. The Afghans under Ahmad Shah Durrani had barely captured Kashmir via internal aid. In fact earlier the huge Afghan Army of Durrani had been soundly defeated by a small army of Kashmiris led by Raja Sukhjiwan Mal. When Afghans emerged as tyrants later Pandit Brbal Dhar (a Kashmiri Pandit) aided by Raja Gulab Singh Jamwal urged Maharaja Ranjit Singh to annex Kashmir which he did. Raja Dina Nath was extremely loyal to the Sikh Kingdom and he was one of the Kashmiri Pandits along with another Kashmir Pandit Col. Ayodhya Prasad (a formidable military commander) who played a big role in the kingdom of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
