I'm really curious to see how much of the story you piece together before it's revealed. You're very observant. I've played this game many times and love listening to the audio, but I've never noticed what you what you heard in the first Diane McClintock diary and definitely a lot of other things went missed on my first play through. I've never been quick enough to take that splicer's picture upon entering the entrance to the bar, and I don't think it's intended for you to do so. Getting the message from Atlas telling you to go back to Fontaine Fisheries and then immediately him longing for his wife and kid and imploring you to help (instead of in reverse and separated), definitely makes it take on a very different tone.

Ok I cannot stress this enough but you NEED to take more pictures of enemies to help you against them. Try not taking the photo too fast, wait for the reticule in the centre to focus (if the reticule is spinning that’s the best time to get a picture) photos of enemies while they’re fighting (attacking) will earn you a better score, photos of the dead will earn you little. Take pictures of all enemies, Splicers, Big Daddies, Bots and the enemies won’t get harder to deal with. Also make sure all you weapons are reloaded before going into a fight (especially against a big daddy) look around for what could help you and make sure you have the right ammo equipped.
@Cynthetic3 жыл бұрын

You are a very astute gamer :-) I wish I'd have picked up on so many details when I played through the game for the first time back in 2007. A year or so back, I bought the Remaster and played through on Survivor mode. There was a certain satisfaction in beating it at that difficulty but, personally, I wouldn't say it was fun. "Hard" was a good choice by you. However, what got me through was Winter Blast (recommended in another comment) and Natural Camouflage (a research reward). No one's mentioned Natural Camouflage yet. Don't ignore it when you get it. It can be incredibly useful. Anyway, I look forward to Part 3.

Tips to get better scores with the camera. - The closer the enemy is the better, zooming with the camera to get a closer shot is recommended. - The more the enemy is at the center of the frame the better. - Taking a picture while the enemy is performing an attack. - Taking a picture while there are several enemies in the frame. - Other than doing more damage to the enemies, you will also get some tonics and other bonuses at different levels of research. Like the grenadier will have a certain % where his grenade can be a dud. - Little Sisters gives a small increase to your health and eve. - The Tonics Photographers Eye and Photographers Eye II can be stacked which gives you a bonus of 25% to photography scores. Every time you take a picture of the same subject the score will be halved.
@robertmurdock18483 жыл бұрын
If she follows your other tips the Photo. Eye tonics would be unnecessary, you should have no problems getting all the upgrades in a reasonable amount of time. Other tonics would be far more helpful than the Photo. Eye tonics.imo

I don't know if they "fixed" the glitch for the remasters , but you can get an extra little sister in each of the next 4 areas , starting with Neptune's Bounty. Two of them are relatively easy to trigger in normal gameplay by "accident" , the other two require a little of a "spolier info" to trigger the precise actions to get the glitch.

It always broke my heart every time you had to take down Mr. Bubbles :( The Little Sister crying for the big guy is heart breaking :( And yeah, he's not a bad guy and hostile, only when provoked or when a Little Sister gets harmed. Definitely a must getting all the Little Sisters in the area the rewards from the Little Sisters are worth the effort. And I think you can hypnotize and kill a Big Daddy.
@Cynthetic3 жыл бұрын
I felt so bad for Mr. B in that moment! Their relationship is kinda cute even if it is coerced. Also, I'm unsure if I can cause Mr. B damage after hypnotizing him. I know I can't hypnotize a Mr. B when it's with it's Sister and I think they turn hostile regardless if I cause them damage.
@MyShalora6 ай бұрын
@@Cynthetic You can hypnotize a big daddy when he has a little sister, the little sister just runs away. If you damage them, the hypnotize ends and they attack you, so you also have to be careful with gene tonics like Static Burst. You hypnotize a big daddy, he's your friend, some splicer hits you, your static burst goes off, hits the big daddy, now he is attacking you too. If not damaged by you, though, when the hypnotize wears off, they just wander away and go back to looking for little sisters. The big drawback of hypnotize big daddy (since having a big daddy fighting your battles is *way* OP) is that it takes your *entire* Eve bar. Which can be cool if your bar is almost empty, but when it's full, dang, it still uses the whole thing. It's pretty wasteful. I never bother with it.
@jackcoleman17843 жыл бұрын
You're missing a lot of opportunities to take photos. As you increase your photo ranking you increase damage dealt to particular enemies and eventually you unlock custom genes/plasmids. You can take photos of literally anything that has an A.I. in game including Little Sisters. Also when you take the photo you're just taking it right away instead of letting it focus which doesn't get you nearly as many research points. Let it zoom in and focus first. Lastly you're wasting a lot of ammo destroying cameras when you could be hacking them. When they're hacked they trigger alarms on enemies and summon bots that are friendly to you. Just some suggestions.
@Cynthetic3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tips! Didn't realize there was multiple photo bonuses per enemy until a bit later. I think it's around Hephaestus that I use the camera more. As for the cameras, I destroy them to save a bit a time. The friendly alarms are helpful, but its also just time consuming if the camera is located in a low-traffic area that I likely won't return to. And I've been maxing out on ammo and money so using resources to take out some cameras is honestly just a preference rather then a strategical choice.
@jackcoleman17843 жыл бұрын
@@Cynthetic Word ^_^. They were suggestions so by all means stick to a play style you enjoy I just wanted to make sure you were informed. Love the series keep it up ^_^.
@MyShalora6 ай бұрын
"Why does he want these photos?" Because it's a mechanism to teach you to use the camera. 😂 What's even sadder about Masha's story is that when you find the bodies of her parents in that room, if you stop and look closely, there is an open bottle of pills spilled on the mattress, which strongly implies that they decided they couldn't live without her. Their little story is just so sad.

Hypnotize Big Daddy is the most broken plasmid in-game hands down. But it has a few conditions to use it effectively. The best way to use it is just to pitt Big Daddies against each other. They aren't very effective body guards in large due to the fact that the ai can be easily distracted and not always attentive(exact opposite to the lore ironically enough). Not to mention they only retaliate much like the security bot ai and can not actively defend the player. And if you accidentally hurt the hypnotized Big Daddy, then it will turn hostile. For all these reasons, while it is an effective and cheap way to whittle down their health while dealing with other enemies, the time constraint plus the eve cost of 'everything in the tank' makes it not ideal for that use. If, however, you use it for Big Daddy fights? Then we're talking. If you get the tonic Bloodlust(hitting with wrench gives you health and eve), then it is even more cost effective. But the ideal scenario is that you have two Big Daddies duke it out until both are low health, then focus on the non-hypnotized one which preferably has a Little Sister(since hypnotized Big Daddies can't have Little Sisters)and then you have a wandering Big Daddy with low hp which basically means a free Little Sister and the Little Sister of the now deceased Big Daddy. All with minimal effort and the cost of a single eve hypo(none if you have bloodlust and used the wrench to deal with the Big Daddy). And since Big Daddies' corpses hold big payouts, then the cost is negligible. A little side note about using Bloodlust and meleeing a Big Daddy. Big Daddies will aggro to you if you deal enough damage fast enough. What 'enough' means will be up to you to figure out. Still it may be worth it to experiment as the Hypnotize Big Daddy and Bloodlust combo is the least costly and most surefire method to slay Big Daddies.

A good action shot is to light a splicer on fire, then take a picture. There's three levels of research for each enemy type, as I recall. And that's three bonuses for each type - and the bonuses get better at higher research levels.
