I place more blame on King George V who was afraid of the possibility of a revolution happening in England if he gave his beloved cousin and his family asylum than Rasputin. Rasputin or no, the Bolsheviks were going to assassinate the royal family to keep them from being able to claim their "birthright". Saying that Rasputin was the deciding factor in their deaths ignores colonial Russian history, and the pressure cooker that made revolution inevitable long before he came into the picture.

Yeah, here in Phoenix it's disgusting how many native women and girls go missing but no one seems to care other than the immediate family. And even they have trouble being able to get and keep the word out about their girls. It's like nobody sees or hears them. I hear them though and I see them and it haunts me. Please someone step in and find the truth. Whoever's doing this has gotten away with it for so long because the people with the resources won't investigate to the extent needed to find these girls and the people who care enough can't afford to get close enough to the truth for it to make a difference. I'm not native but I am a survivor and I know what happens to girls that go missing. Sometimes the dead ones are actually the lucky ones.

And I also held onto hope that she was out there somewhere until my dad was like "you need to see this random history channel program" and it was about how they had found her body. He had so much beef with this children's movie and that was why. Little girls would be watching and thinking their new found favorite princess was alive and well. And she was dead.

Just a note about sending people to Siberia & such. My great-grandfather and family were part of the Tsar's guard and some a part of the Tsarina's court. So my fam had to book it when the Revolution happened. (They did lose touch with a sister who remained there) At one point my g-grandfather was actually stationed in Siberia where not ever they had enough food to make it through. They would boil their boots just to make broth from the leather. So whether you were a prisoner or actually stationed there, it was unlivable. Not much has changed in how they treat their people or troops.

Bailey always bringing us up to speed on the real facts! An episode on the expulsion of the Acadians would be super cool to hear from Dark History!
