“O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us; To see oursels as ithers see us!” This was my late (Glaswegian) Mum’s most beloved quote. Seeing and hearing Cammy’s Burns’ recitation has moved me more than I can say here💜 Thank you, a heart-felt thank you indeed 🙏🏼🏴🇦🇺🦘🌹

We need more farmers reciting poems, if all are as brilliant as this one! Another great, very educating and also entertaining episode

Cammy Wilson has a blog he does every week called Fed by Farmers. If you type that into YT followed by The Hoof GP (Roberts brother) you'll see Cammy is 'normally' as enthusiastic as he is reciting Burns. Sorry if you already know this but just didn't want you to miss out if you liked Cammy's style x

Fed by Farmers is his podcast channel. His farming vlog channel is The Sheep Game. Both are well worth checking out!

Another pearler Robert. Fantastic combination of you telling us Burns history, and Cammy reciting one of his poems. Robert, this was such a fantastic, amazing, and awesome video! I absolutely loved every second of it! I often host Burns Suppers here in Austin Texas and am not able to do one this year. I plan to share your video with all my friends as it is such a nice treat since we can't celebrate Rabbie together this year! I have told Rabbie's story quite often but your presentation and insights are quite phenomenal and really help bring him to life so beautifully. Your friend's recitation of that poem was outstanding and the commentary delightful. Thanks so much for all your hard work! You really are one of my favorite channels and I eagerly await your videos.

Only at a mature age do we appreciate what our elders taught us young ones, the traditions that make a people, it requires a ripened mind. That farmer man did a great job reciting, I couldn't understand a lot of it, so I'll have to look it up in my Burns collected works later, but his delivery and expression were a pleasure to watch! 👍 History should never be cancelled, and inconvenient or uncomfortable truths should not be forgotten, lest we repeat the mistakes of the past.

Cammy, that was wonderful!! Your expressions and hand gestures just added to the poem!! My question to Cammy is: was that recited entirely in Scots or was some slang? 😊 Bob, that was great bringing on Cammy. Loved this video, might be one of my favorites! Would like to hear you recite a poem!! Thanks for that beautiful view 😮 Look forward to your next adventure! ❤

I once attended a Burns Night dinner, hosted in America by an Eastern Orthodox priest -- a 5th generation Californian -- one of whose guests was his bishop, and we ate a haggis prepared by his Greek wife. All of us were in Highland costume, yet I think I was the only one there with significant Scottish Highlands ancestry. (I recited his, "To a Mouse".) If that's not a sign of Robert Burns' influence on the world stage, I don't know what is.

Your videos are always interesting. I am not Scots, so when I tried to read his poetry I was never as good at it as Cammy. (What did you bribe him with?) I understand not being thrilled having to read something in school. I still hate some of the books we had to read in high school.

Hurt my arm this mornin and had to go to hospital for an x-ray, as I was sitting waiting to be seen, the lad next to me says," Fair fae yer honest sonsieface! Great chieftain o' the puddin race!!" I was like, eh?!?!., I turned my head round to the the lady sat on my other side, she said, " ! Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie, O, what a panic's in thy breastie!" , As I grabbed the next doc walking past I said, "here mate is this the psychiatric ward?" He says," no this is the burns unit!
