There is a yearly quota for how many people are allowed into the country and a quota per country. When illegals skip the line, the others who have been waiting legally have to wait even longer. It's not fair that all they have to do to get in is to cross the border. It's also not fair that those of us who come to the US legally have to sign an affidavit stating that we are not entitled to any government aid. To come to the US, my uncle had to sponsor us. He had to provide his income tax returns to INS and also fill out another affidavit stating that he would be financially responsible for us for three years. The legal immigrant can support himself; the illegal one is a drain on the economy.
