One of the Women accused of being a "Salem Witch" was my ancestor. Like I knew my family had been here for a really long time but we had no idea our family was that involved in the situation.... Definitely a shocker when we traced out ancestry back to one of the original Salem Witches unjustly murdered by the rest of the town...

My Grandma practiced Blood Healing back in Guatemala. She was only a novice at 10yo back in the 40s, but she was the assisting nurse to a bona fide Blood Minister: the Blood Minister would have my grandma prepare the patient as one would for a blood transfusion, but instead of using a hospital blood bag, the Blood Minister would draw blood directly from two special blood donors; an intravenous line would flow blood directly from these two donors into the patient as treatment - this would rapidly heal surgical scars and other traumatic injury, as well as rectify organ dysfunction and accelerate the removal of metabolic wastes in the Blood recipient. Surgical scars, and in emergencies open wounds even, heal seamlessly in a matter of days rather than months; diabetes cured and liver scars removed after several courses; and major detox effect immediately due to the donors' peculiar "Good Blood" displacing the "bad blood". The Blood Minister had the task of overseeing the Blood Healing, and has a special talent of finding these special donors: these donors HAD to be female, virgin, blood type O-, vegan for at least 5 years, and NEVER had received a blood transfusion of their own (my grandma said due to some deliberately evil influences and a general lack of discipline in today's society, these Special Donors are virtually nonexistent today). The Blood Minister, after finding candidates that fit this particular criteria, would manage their training in standard medical practice and Esoteric Affairs (for realsies Magic and Witchcraft). At least two are at the ready to give blood for healing at any one time, and the others had to be kept hidden from what my Grandma called the (((Twisted Ones))) (two things happened at the same time: one, the Guatemalan government had persecuted the Native Mayans, and the Blood Ministers who knew how to practice Blood Healing fared no better; two, WWII happened, and my grandma with a straight face put bluntly that the Jews with their Mosaic Law pushed against the use of Blood as Profane, which reinforced the persecution of the Pagan Mayans by the Christian-Zionist majority). This weirdly fantastic and uncomfortably AntiSemitic story was shared by my Grandma on thanksgiving day 2016 at age 82, totally unprompted of any prior conversation, as if she was suddenly compelled to keep the story alive with us (don't worry, she's very much alive and well today). I have no doubt that her story is true, weird sh*t just finds its way out of the Jungle in Guatemala. Having trained with this Minister, my Grandmother is technically a Blood Ministress, a Witch if you will, and has successfully hidden her esoteric practice under a Catholic Color Scheme: she has a collection of Angel Artwork in which the images reflect the many esoteric designs and teachings of Blood Healing, for posterity. Old habits die hard for her, but I'm far more overt with my comprehension of world mythology, the Mayan Popol Vuh and the Greek Fables have taught me more about life than the Bible ever has, and I call dibs on what might be an Honest-to-Goodness Spellbook. A precious addition to my collection.

I'd like to add the Zugarramurdi trials, one of the biggest inquisitional trial related to witchcraft in Spain (usually, Inquisition in Spain was more after false christians than witches, so there are fewer known cases of witchcraft trials in the country). I can't remember quite well the numbers, but more than 200 people from a little village were put on trial on accusations of witchcraft but only a few were found guilty, and 7 were killed by fire and other 5 were burnt in efiggy, because they had died before the trial ended. The Inquisition fogave all the others that asked for mercy and rejoined the christian beliefs.

Superstition and stupidity is today at the same level as 500 years ago, the topics became a little bit more modern, but the thinking hasn't changed a bit. The majority of the population is still completely scientifically uneducated and still acts primarily based upon emotions1 Just look at those guys yelling everywhere "immigrants are the sole root of all evil" .. those are the prototype of people who took 500 years ago torches into their hands just to to find someone to blame for their own f*cked up life and burn em at the stake.

Frank Schneider homeopathy is just a placebo effect. Tho it works, but it shouldn’t not replace real medications. Placebos are still confusing
@frankschneider61566 жыл бұрын
The placebo effect is pretty well understood. Homeopathy is just the equivalent of "I don't need medicine, my body will deal with it by itself". Which is perfectly fine when not seriously ill as long as the people pay for it by themselves. For that reason is homeopathy exactly as effective and sensible as consulting a voodoo priest e.g. to obtain a love spell (which is exactly the same kind, but just a different variant of superstition). To put it more bluntly: homeopathy is primarily aimed at superstitious, scientifically illiterate morons. Pretty much the same kind of people like creationists, they just fall for a different kind of superstition.

The Pendle Witch trials in Lancashire is a fascinating case. Involving a suspected witches coven , a whispered curse that caused an old man to collapse, a familiar in the shape of a big hound , and a nine year old girl accusing her Own family and ultimately condemning her own mum to death , and she in later life was said to be in a witches coven herself ( allegedly). But that case could take an entire vid to cover.

I’ve read that ergotized grain may have had an influence on the Salem, MA community, as well.

With the town of Berwick the 'w' is silent, so it's 'Berik'. It comes from Gaelic. Gotta love English eh :)

I haven't looked over them as they are in my mom's heavily guarded possession but I have seen documents showing that one of my great great (great great?) grandmothers or something was chased out of her Scottish town for being a witch! I'll have to ask my mom about it for more details and hopefully now that I'm older I can get my hands on them papers!

I have witches in my family(My moms side), I know one for sure who was my mom's uncle he was famous in the neighborhood. That's why they are so many girls in my family, if witches run in your mother family line it will most likely lead to have many girls in your family. They are different type of witches, and seeing things before it happens is not bad tbh.

Yeah sure witches are real and pigs can fly. What's your problem ? Lack education, need for attention from others or just insufficient mental capacity or everything together ?
@vigbokwe696 жыл бұрын
Frank Schneider Ok. Sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. Just visit Nigeria.
@tatianajeaninee83536 жыл бұрын
Frank Schneider Lol tf, you seriously need to stop being bitter and get worldly. Witchery, and Voodoo are very serious, and it's dangerous. Go to Haiti or any Caribbean island and meet an Voodoo man or women, it's no joke. I would never even perform anything on you or anyone, it's serious damage. It has nothing to do with education as well, I'm very well educated nor attention but I will not be ignorant on witchery and Voodoom, especially when it runs deep in my bloodline as well as spirituality.

I'm practicing white magic and am wiccan. I do white magic, meditation and herbs since I was poisoned as a child at the age of 4, a near death experience and a second poisoning several months later. After that I studdy herbs and their powers from my great-grandmother and cast my first wand at the age of 13, after her death. It was an 1,4m juniper staff and now I use 50cm chestnuts staff with gold, branding and Crystal. Next we celebrate Imbloch at the 31. January and the wolfmoon on Monday. Stay witchy!

Question: Was there a stark difference between witches and wiccans in the past, or were these "witches" just wiccans or innocent women who were called witches to make them sound scarier?
@dr.zoidberg86666 жыл бұрын
There were no "wiccans" in the past. "Wicca" is newage bullshit that people invented to try & revitalize paganism. Real paganism was still a thing in Europe during the middle ages & earlier, so there were no revitalization movements needed. The same is the case for Africa right now, for instance. There is no newage bullshit, because the traditional bullshit is still thriving just fine.

Basically, in whatever language 'Wicca' is from, 'Wicca' means 'Witch'.
