Many mistakes. Sogdians were not from Iran, nor were they a Turkic people. They were an Iranian people native to Central Asia. etc.

There is no Iranic. In Asia only 3 civilizations existed China, Persians and Turkic. And they they were Turkic people who adopted Persian language

@@bakhodirkarimov Iranic peoples were people who looked Caucasian/Europeude abd spoke an Indo- European language if Iranic branch. Persian was one of those languages. In Central Asia they spoke Soghdian, another Iranic language. It was not Persian but was related to it. Ut got replaced by Persian in early kedieval Islamic oeriod and in turn was gradually replaced by many Turkic languages

@@JP-bj2sb There is no such thing as Iranic. In Asia, civilization began with only 3 peoples, the Persians (Aryans), the Chinese and the Turks. The origin of Aryans is India, not Central Asia. Central Asia is the ancient Turks. Today's Persian scholars referred to all the Turkic tribes as Persians. You will find the answer if you read Al Beruni's books. Al Beruni says in his work that Central Asia was the land of Afrosiab (Alp Er Tunga) before the arrival of the Persians. Iranian scholars always protest when they hear the name Turan because Iran was considered the land of Turan before the arrival of the Achaemenid dynasty. But when read European books Europe refers to the Turkic population of Asia as Persia and says that the Turks came to Central Asia in the 6th-7th centuries. That is why we call European scientists stupid

I'm rather confused. Most kids in East Asia would've learned about 安禄山 (or Ān Lù shān in present-day Mandarin) and his rebellion. But he is from mid-8th century. What does it have to do with somebody from 579CE?

Care has to be taken with geographic terms and ethnic terms as they are not static terms over long periods of history, territories expand and contract and ethnic people move around and also absorb others and mix with others over time. The term Iran, as in Iran Veijh applied to a much larger territory than current Iran.

True.... Too much in the North. This was known later as Transoxania, "located further thsn the Oxus (Amu Darya)". It was however a part of the Persian Achemenid Empire before its destruction by Alexander the Greek. The Sogdians turned out rebellious and accelerated the end of the Greek Bactrian Kingdom.

Sogdians descended, unlike their Alan neighbours, from aryanized (which means, influenced by the Oxus Civilization, that died in1900 BC due to their brutal collision with the Andronovian nomadic people) Andronovians. Their only difference with the Iranians is that the Iranians were mixed with Indo-Aryans. "Aryanized", according to last researches means actually mixed, semitized (the Oxus Civilization was most likely elamite rooted), convinced to be highly spiritual, civilized. The zoroastrianism has been the biggest sigm of zoroastrianism. The 2d one was buddhism. Both of them affected unfortunately the Sogdians. Their language was, beside, written in Arameic characters. No wonder they were eventually replaced by Turks, who themselves were later overwhelmed by Mongols. Their ancient capital, Samarcanda (from Saca-Maracanda) is now an Uzbek place where every stone glorifies the memory of the islamo-mongolian leader Tamerlan. However, till 1000 CE the Sogdiand were very succesful along the Silk Road, due the sympathy that the Chinese had for them. It's unknown which relation they may have had with other white (aka indo-european) people : the Tokharians, descendents of the Afanassievo Culture ... in case there still were in China at that time. Still some people talk a Sogdian dialect, the Yaghnobi, in Tadjikistan where the Sogdians fled in order to survive, which is actually the reason why there are "european-looking" people in that south-eastern, mountainous corner of Central Asia whereas all the rest is turcomongol.
