@@simeonroberts2004 Tigers have not given any indication they intend to be competitive before Skubal’s contract expires + they just drafted a bunch of high schoolers. Their program is going to yield results by 2026 at the earliest and they probably aren’t going to be seriously competitive until 2027, selling Skubal for a bunch of players with 6 years of control who have already shown promise is the best deal they’re gonna get given he isn’t going to be the difference maker on their next competitive team.

They still are not there yet and probably will be an around .500 team at the end of this year. But with upcoming stars in Jace Jung and Jackson Jobe and with players like Kerry Carpenter, Colt Keith, Wenceel Perez, Reese Olson, Riley Greene, Matt Vierling, Tarik Skubal, and others they will be competitive next year. But it isn’t something you sell Skubal for.
