Ideally, I would like to see the Bruins move Ulmark to Carolina for Martin Necas, but if that falls through, then move him to Ottawa for Jacob Chychrun. If they can't acquire Necas, who is ideal because he is only 25, then they ill be going after one of the 30 year old centers and end up overpaying.

Good episode gents. Enjoyed the off season outlook. Definitely agree with Ty's point about Chychrun as a potential growth inhibitor to Lohrei's offensive game. I personally don't want to see Chychrun here, too injury prone, never played in a market with winning expectations, and the $4.6m cap hit.

3-Team Trade To VGK: Linus Ullmark To BOS: Jacob Chychrun and SJ 2025 3rd Rd Pick (From VGK) To OTT: Adin Hill and VGK 2025 2nd Rd pick Ullmark's NTC and desire to play in Boston makes a trade with one of the "popular" destinations almost impossible. He has no reason to block any teams that already have established starters so, that's 6-8 teams directly out of the running without needing to use any block slots. He has 16 teams to block until Jul 1st when it goes down to 15. That's only going to leave 7-10 teams to make a deal with and most of them aren't going to be chomping at the bit to give up much for a slight upgrade in their goal tending. BOS maximizes their return in a trade like this. Ullmark and Hill's contracts are basically identical next year so, VGK gets an upgrade to their goal tending for essentially a 2nd and 3rd rounder after Hill lost the starting job to Logan Thompson this year (even though he kind of won it back in the playoffs) and historically VGK has been known to not care much about picks while they're trying to win now. OTT gets an upgrade to their goal tending (even though Hill lost his job to Thompson he was still better than either of OTT's goalies) and a little sweetner in the form of the 2rd rd pick since they didn't land the big fish in Ullmark. Colorado/Pittsburgh are other options with Georgiev/Jarry going to OTT instead but, I think VGK is more likely. COL doesn't have the draft capital and I don't think OTT has that much interest in Jarry, especially with his term.

Stephenson has only scored over 20 goals once. HARD pass on him. They need offence. Not another Charlie Coyle

I would only sign Stephenson for the right price and use him at a 3rd line center and hopefully trade Coyle.

I wouldn't give Swayman anymore than 7 for 7 years. Then you have to move Ullmark's 5 mil for a pick. So you essentially only use 2 mil of the 21 mil of the cap space on Swayman. That leaves you a ton to get a center and 1 or 2 top 6 wingers. My wishlist would be Stephenson at 6 mil per, Guentzel at 7 to 8 mil per and Brenden Dillon at at 2.5 mil. That leaves the team with 3 mil while upgrading 3 areas of need.

No way bro. Swayman is the future. And that 9 will look like a value in 3/4 years… Ullmark is gonna be on his last leg in 2 years and then they have to revisit the position instead of being set for 8 years

9 is too much for a goalie that has only won 1 round in the playoffs, and has never played #1 minutes in the regular season… I love Sway, he’s great and is certainly worth a chunk of money, but again 9 AAV is way too high!

Swayman is 25 years old, you sign him for 7-8 years. In three years his contract will be in line with other goalies.

I’m comfortable giving swayman $7.75mil/year. Arguably as good/better than ottenger, not the track record of bobrovsky to earn $10mil. The sweet spot is right between the 2 of them

That is the price you pay when you go all in like last year, personally I have never been a fan of trading 1st and 2nd round picks, unless it is part of a deal for a young super star.
