If the Conservative Party are to have any chance of winning the next general election, they need to get rid of their current leader as soon as possible.

She is Nigerian. She was chosen by a hopeless Conservative Party hierarchy not because she was actually competent, intelligent or politically astute but because she was A) Black B) Female The fact she is an actual Nigerian citizen added icing to the cake. This is the thinking of our politicians that allowed grooming gangs, terrible atrocities and hopeless public services. She is actually my MP, parachuted into a uber-safe Tory seat replacing the absolutely ancient Sir Alan Hazelhurst who at least lived in the constituency. She lives in Wimbledon I think, we never see her, we never hear from her, despite the numerous issues facing the area from vast amounts of house building wrecking the place to rural crime and farmers inheritance tax. She is a typical Westminster butterfly. She appears periodically and then flies away. She is actually the living embodiment of many problems facing the U.K. from health tourism to abuse of the education system by someone who never contributed and whose family just dropped in to get a passport, free maternity care and a free (at the time) education. I met her once. I thought she was collecting for a charity.

As a Tory voter from 2005 to 2019, there is no way I'll be voting Tory again whilst it's rammed with liberals - that's point 1. I said that given that IMMIGRATION is now the biggest issue in the country, appointing an Immigrant (albeit 2nd gen) to lead the party was foolish, as she would be accused of 'pulling up the drawbridge' to further Africans etc settling here. She has a degree of charm and intelligence and no doubt does have 'conservative' attitudes, but she is not in the league or Farage or Lowe or Tice. BUT......the most important thing that this country MUST do in the next 4 years is get rid of this diabolical Government. That might mean some sort of coming together of Reform and the Conservative Party....but not with her as Leader. They should've gone for Jenrick.

@Commentator-tb8ku The civil service run the country and therein lies the problem. Trump (love him or loathe him) knows from his first term in office that the primary goal of his second term is to rip the ‘independence’ out of the civil service and replace it with impartiality (as it used to be). Same in the UK. I’m not sure Farage has the courage or backing to do this. Perhaps someone else has.

They also need someone as you say, who can go after Farage. And I don't think they have that, out of the likely contenders. Jenrick is doing a Farage impression without the credibility. Cleverly and Tugendhat are utter non-starters. Funny watching all Parliament try and heckle Farage by the way. They have no idea how the public viewed that, when they saw him just laughing them off and calling them scared.
