Notice what Penix can do against some of the BEST COLLEGE TEAMS in football, some of these dudes like Maye aren't playing good teams and Caleb hasn't beaten a good college team either. Penix is doing it live action and he's the most pro ready

@@davey5ironYeah I think his mechanics are fine. I played QB...when the guys unnecessarily conk it back and have an abrubt looping motion, that's when it's a problem. Tebow is an example. When your feet aren't set, accuracy is all over the place. McCarthy, Shadeur and others don't have perfect throwing motions either though. I think he's fine there. Where I'm concerned is the injury history and his age. Last yr was his 1st full season making it start to finish..and it took til his super senior yr. He's also gonna be turning 25 as a rookie next yr. Still pretty young for a QB, but that's older than you would like starting day 1. If he was 21-23 without injury concerns, he would def be a top 3-5 pick imo

As a Bucs fan, I had originally thought we were going to be drafting a QB. And as an Oregon fan, I was hoping for Nix or Penix potentially. Obviously, things are good here with Baker. And thrilled about it. Seems like he may get a contract here. The point is that I started this year thinking we were going to be QB drafting. Happily surprised by Baker finding his groove.

I love that Baker found his footing and a team that believes in him. I believe a lot of that has to do with Bobby Canales. He helped Geno find his way with my Seahawks, and perhaps he’s the next QB whisperer. Although OLine and questionable playcalling has a lot to do with Geno’s regression this year, I firmly believe a lot has to do with Canales leaving for Tampa.

Dudes calling Caleb a bust in 24 or Bryce Young a bust rn are iumping the gun. As Aaron Rodgers stated in a recent interview - you realistically need 3 years to make a sound assessment on whether a QB is a bust or not. 1) Rookie Year - where he may flourish or fall. But gaining experience and reps is important. 2) Adaption Year - Teams have tape of their first year. So rookie will need to show ability to adapt 3) Showcase Year - Rookie finally puts it all together and makes their serious playoff run

If Chicago stays with Fields, the amount of draft capital they can get in return is going to be through the roof, especially if a team falls in love with a particular guy.Pulling that feat off two years in a row is pretty wild. Jayden was GPS clocked at 21.86 mph on that run against Florida. In the NFL this year there were only 3 players that were clocked over 21.86, of course Tyreek Hill. Cheater in Miami did it more then twice. Last year Jayden was Clocked 21.66. Hill was Clocked at 22.06 which is insane. News flash: the NFL doesn't value slow learners. If it takes player A 12 starts to look great (Caleb/Drake) and player B needs 40 starts to show flashes (Jayden), then it's pretty obvious player A is better. Now, is that the end of analysis? Depends on how badly your organization needs a QB and whether it is either in the top5 or willing to move into the top5. Point is, 90% of teams would draft Daniels 3rd.

It is because it is a QB driven league. You get a guy like Mahomes or Rodgers and every year you have a shot to win a championship. Not very often will you find a QB with that kind of talent outside of the first round. How good they end up being with a QB has A LOT more to do with things other than just ARM talent & running ability. So those things will get you into the first round, but not guarantee you will be a solid QB in the NFL. For that reason and because of the premium put on the position today you will get GMs to reach on many of these guys and thus will get the higher number of busts at the QB position.

@shankdiddy9045

I think Jayden Daniels is the BEST QB prospect in this draft. 1 Jayden Daniels.. .. Ravens dominate with Lamar Jackson not because of stats. But because of all the drives he saves and when you only get about 16 a game and you can save 5 of them with sack avoidance. Some compare him to Lamar with the quick twitch... and i see some of that. But the part that is mixed in is his ability to throw the med to deep ball throws with excellent ball placement. While also protecting the football at a high level then he turns into something rare. Is this a guy you run read option and design runs? What is different about him than Lamar that would should have scouts and GM's really really looking hard at this young man >> His ability too throw the back shoulder throw, fades, throwing in the red zone. He may very well be some of the dynamics you get from Lamar in terms of off schedule plays. But also the ability to absorb MORE TD passes in the passing game. Imagine Eric Bienimy getting his hands on this kid. 2 Micheal Penix... if his medical clears he is 2nd best QB in this draft. You draft a QB to over come 3rd and long.. over come 2min drill and end of half.. to capture pressure cooker moments... to excel when everyone in the world is watching. He has done that better than anyone in this class and it MATTERS. NFL arm and will lead a top 5 offense multi years and be in the NFL MVP race .. bank on it. He has clutch plays in big time career and school defining moments repeated ... with NFL throws on top of NFL throws. If his medical is good you race to turn in your card to draft him..... Nobody used the pass catchers against Joe Burrow even tho he had the NFL all pro team first team to throw too in Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase. Nobody uses Quinn Ewers Wideouts against him. I feel like most are simply wrong on Penix Jr. MOST underrated QB prospect this decade!!!! 3 Caleb Williams .. with the right coach that guides him in the direction Steve Young eluded to with Lamar Jacksons progression then i would take Caleb Williams as higher. But If he goes to the bears or pats or Washington or Falcons.. those coaching staffs ..hmm... not sure about. A team has to convince him that winning via the pocket and hero plays are for every down. 4 Drake Maye... disappears in the moment.. 4 and 8 in the last 6 games of last year and this year combined in the most critical moments in the got to have it moments... and we aren't talking about losing to Bama or Georgia or FSU... they got sweeped two years in a row by Georgia Tech and NC State.. and losing to Virgina .... only win the last month of the season is vs Campbell... stark Contrast to Micheal Penix... THIS MATTERS!!!!! 5 Bo Nix... The reason why they lost to Washington... main reason is in those clutch down and distances that forced them into going for it on 4th down.. .they can't "throw themselves out of disadvantages down and distances" on 3rd down... you can bubble screen .. and hurry to the line and catch everyone with their pants down in the NFL as the meat of what you do... you have to be able to drop back in known passing situations and deal ... win vs 3rd and long.. win in 2min drill end of half... overcome penalties or a sack by projecting the passing game down the field... that isn't what he is. Honestly if you are objective Mitchell Tribisky college tape shows more pro traits JJ McCarthy has been hidden in his system. He hasn't really displayed the ability to carry a team or have long stretches of dominates. I see Christian Ponder (more arm strength)... They may not be picked this way. But this is who i think will be good NFL QBs..... I am betting as we approach the draft you will start to hear with the NFL people studying film start to say and i am betting it will start to look like this.

How do you think Jayden Daniels or Penix jr would look like in Atlanta with a coaching change?
@shankdiddy9045
@shankdiddy9045 Жыл бұрын
@@mazzi.ozborne I think that both of them are deep ball throwers. And having a pass catcher that can impact the down field passing game via speed or a catch radius size guy would benefit both if you expect them to play at their peak. ... these are conservative ding and dunk QB's .. any team that drafts them needs to embrace the aggressive nature of their games. ... which is a staple of the really good QB's in the NFL. Not afraid to project the passing game down field. Pass catchers don't need to be "wide open" just need to have "position" on a defender.... a coach needs to embrace that. The tight end talent there is a plus. But i think if the Cards draft a QB they should consider adding a size / catch radius pass catcher with speed if possible.

But what about signature moments.. signature drives..clutch in the "GOT TO HAVE IT" moments. I see a lot of Trevor Lawerence, good tools and abilities but can we elevate the team? Can we make key plays in key games... not get swept two years in a row by NC state and Ga tech.. and only win in the last month of the season is vs Campbell. By contrast Micheal Penix Jr made pressure cooker plays in key moments where he made NFL throws ..signature plays.. signature games.. signature moments.. 3rd and 7 vs oregan last year 3 min left on the road down a touch down. And Penix makes a throw to opposite hash vs cover 2 over a first round corner with 18 inches of space IN THAT MOMENT on the road vs number 6 Oregan (Washington opened the season not ranked in the top 50)... This is what i mean. There are so many examples of this. Doing NFL things in key clutch moments when you have to have it or season is over type moments and he repeatedly did it. .. Drake Maye was kinda like "meh" in in moments at the end of the season when you GOT TO HAVE it.. thus men mentioning the 4 and 8 in the last 6 games of 22 and 2023 .... Mel is the ultimate insider when it comes to the Ravens draft. Id like to hear the back story on what happened last year straight out the horses mouth. The way I see it is: DC McDonald was able to put his 2 cents in & get the 'replacements' at LB drafted cuz he didn't want PQ or TB. And the ann was made that they wasn't pickin up a 5th yr option for a guy that is gonna get a max contract. TB was never his cuppa tea & wasn't willing to play his game and that's where he got stigmatized as a troublemaker. Is any of the people waiting in the wings gonna materialize as adequate replacements, Mel? Neither of these guys needed to be replaced Mel_it was the LT all along wasn't it. Mels job isnt to predict what happens after they are drafted, and some guys just arent able to live up to their hype. thats on the gma and coaches for not putting them in a position to succeed bc 99% of the guys can play, there’s probably very few guys who get drafted that really just flat out suck but also some players just do it to themselves
