We see our local sheriff's out on these highways changing tires and hauling gas for stranded vehicles. I had a bad roll over with 3 kids in my car while I was 7months pregnant in the middle of nowhere and I got help. Cops got us all out.

I was hit last year by a drunk driver going 25 mph over the speed limit, she totaled my vehicle as well as her own. Her BAC was .246. She was 23 yrs old. I agree, there should be an age limit, no one under the age of 35 should have a driver’s license.

They all decided to take that risk to save this woman, but their decision to do so is not and was not not her responsibility.

We really need to rework our licensing requirements for the elderly. Its not discriminatory, its basic common sense. If a child can be too immature or young to be considered able to make good decisions in the context of driving a weapon, why do we not check for cognitive decline more thoroughly than an occasional eye chart test? Maybe even make a randomized pool of every licensed driver every few months and have a dedicated simulation facility with a mandatory 30 minute driving evaluation? If people had to pass a driving test every few months I guarantee the number of driving related deaths will plummet. Even drinking and driving will drop.
