You guys should do “Fake Plastic Trees” by them next. It’s both my favorite song lyrically and melody-wise. Its theme has been described as the “difficulty of forging an authentic human connection in a world of artifice,” which is a tough nut to crack in the span of five minutes, but I think they pull it off. I feel his struggle to stay true to one’s self and one’s goals, when the whole world seems built around putting up a front and never showing anyone what you the real you is like.

I maintain this album is quite simply the greatest album of all time and it's a hill I will die on. Lyrically Radiohead are often deep and dark, and yes, depressing but MUSICALLY the soundscapes they create are just beautiful and soaring into ecstasy. I adore them. Necessities of theirs are: Fake Plastic Trees The Bends Paranoid Android There are so many more but these are a perfect way to continue your journey through their incredible catalogue. Creep was an absolute anomaly for them, nothing else they do is as direct and simple as that, in fact the band really don't like the song at all.

Radiohead is one of the most revered bands in the world. They have had the same 5 guys in the group since they started in college in the 80’s. “No Surprises” is a gem off their 3rd album “OK Computer” and the album won a grammy for best alternative album of the year. Another great track off that album is “Paranoid Android”. Other great Radiohead songs are: Karma Police; Nice Dream; Fake Plastic Trees; The Bends; Airbag; Street Spirit(Fad e Out); Let Down; My Iron Lung; and many more. One of the most creative groups you will ever find. PS- their lead guitar player, Jonny Greenwood has written the musical score for around 10 movies, including There Will Be Blood; Spencer. Their lead singer and lyricist is Thom York.

I am so happy that you have revisited Radiohead, for me they are one of the most important bands to have come out of the UK and have certainly provided a soundtrack to my life, Since Pablo Honey was released back in 1993. Their output is unique, experimental, thought-provoking, heart breaking and often deeply beautiful. Like Amber's favourite, Pink Floyd, they are a band worthy of constant re-examination, relistening to their music brings insight and a deeper appreciation of quite how brilliant they are. I liked what Jay said "beautifully deep"....

The song is literally about the euphoria...happiness...relief??... a person feels once they decide to end it. Thankfully not too many people have had to experience this mental place. You definitely got the vibe of it, but without the lyrics (oh our mumbly Thom) and first hand experience of this mindset its easy to miss. No alarms (not waking up) and no surprises (no more trauma), please. Anyway, I'm sure other's have already said this. Nothing about Radiohead is just easy listening though.. a lot of people mention songs from Ok Computer, which is a legendary album: Let Down, Karma Police and Paranoid Android are my favorites of this one. I must say that I just LOVE their In Rainbows album (check out some songs from their In Rainbows - Live in the basement on KZbin for instance Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, House of cards or 15 step. Other great ones are High and Dry, Just, Burn the Witch, Lotus Flower, Fake Plastic Trees, but I can just go on and on about this band. Very different songs and moods. Jonny Greenwood is an absolute legend on guitar, Phil Selway on amazing drums and Colin Greenwood on bass guitar keeping it tight but also playful, Ed O’Brien on guitar and backing vocals, a complete nerd with his pedal board, and of course the one and only Thom Yorke, who has a voice out of this world, angelic but also sharp and with that sneer, I am so amazed by this band and they set the bar so high!

NOBODY does depressed and beautiful like RADIOHEAD. "Beautifully deep" is spot on, Jay. "Lullaby" is a perfect description of this music, Amber. That's why I watch this channel. You both pay attention and your thoughts are always incisive. RADIOHEAD are an absolutely BRILLIANT band. They created what many people consider one of the greatest albums in rock history ("OK Computer"... which this song is off of)... and instead of repeating the same formula that got them all that praise, they did a complete left turn on their next release and created an equally stunning "KID A" album that sounded almost nothing like its predecessor. Where to go from here? I'd suggest "KARMA POLICE," "EVERYTHING IN ITS RIGHT PLACE," "BURN THE WITCH," or "PARANOID ANDROID." They have so many brilliant songs that you can't go wrong... the ONLY thing you can expect is quality. Cheers!

Radiohead does their version of prog rock on Paranoid Android of the same album.

If you liked No surprises, I would think that you'll also love Let Down by Radiohead from the same album. It's a mood in that song that makes you just wanna close your eyes and drift away, like you said with The Police, you're just dragged into the song. It's one of those tunes. Enjoy!

OK Computer is the soundtrack to my late teenage years - such an epic album that's worth a listen start to finish - much like any Pink Floyd album!! I must suggest WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S ROMEO + JULIET from 1996 starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes! It's a quirky, modern take on the classic tragedy and the soundtrack is AMAZING!! Radiohead is featured on it and the song "End Credits (For A Film)" on OK Comp is the "uncredited" song playing during the end credits of WSR+J. I hope you add these to your list to view some day - best wishes and keep smiling!

Their song LET DOWN from the same album O.K. Computer is a MUST HEAR!

Agreed. That’s my favorite. There’s a great ‘amateur’ video on YT for Let Down that employs depth-of-field camera tricks and sped-up time-lapse) which creates an amazing sense of miniaturization of the real world.

If you want to hear an incredible cover of Let Down, check out the Easy Star All Stars version. It’s Toots and the Maytals. I like it more than the original

One of my favorite bands of the 90s for sure. Wore out my copy of The Bends album. I recommend “My Iron Lung” from that album.

PLEASE react to 'Street Spirit' - it is truly haunting.....the medoly combined with Thom's voice will penetrate your soul. It really showcases Thom's vocal range - it's simply a Masterpiece!. Also, you gotta react to 'Paranoid Android' and 'Karma Police' - Radiohead can do things that other bands can't. They almost need a genre of their own....that's how unique they are.

Radiohead is definitely artistic. I recommend that you try to mostly do the music video version of their songs, because the videos add so much to their whole artistic vision. Y'all should check out Fake Plastic Trees next, and then react to the video for the song "Just", it will blow you away.

If you haven't listened to Paranoid Android yet, you really should. In my opinion, it's their seminal work, blending the ethereal lullaby-like sound with some head banging breaks.

This is what I call an album song. It so beautifully ties together side 2 of the OK Computer album- which is, arguably, along with u2 's Achtung Baby, one of the 2 best, most complete albums of the 90's.
