I had the pleasure of DJing with Joe Talbot and he is as genuine as it gets. He's always been an advocate for "love" and even at the end of his DJ set as we said our farewells he put both his hands on either side of my face and said the most sincere thank you and goodbye i think i've ever received. Just a genuinely lovely lovely man.

I love Joe and IDLES - the music resonates with my soul, .the lyrics are the perfect, just the right ratio of rage, humour, vulnerability, sensuality, power. If I was 30 years younger I'd have been in the mosh pits right in front of the stage instead of sitting at the back. The first time I saw them live, my heart almost exploded - especially with the lyrics, I was so proud that this was the music she was listening to. As you said, Justin, Joe exudes both menace & humour - epitomising joy as an act of resistance. As a cranky old lady, I am all for this type of rage, and I'm ready to see the establishment burn to ashes. This is the type of music that saved my life in the 80s and now it gives me hope for the future. Joe's raw emotion - he speaks on stage about his losses and his grief - I wept as he spoke about losing his mother. We need more men speaking openly about feelings, and processing in a healthy way, we are losing too many men to "toxic masculinity" - that rage needs to be redirected to focus on the source.

Awesome 2 hour live concert a couple of weeks ago. Something for everyone, my 20 year old son loved it and so did the rest of the audience who were 40 -50 plus. Idles come across as genuine guys. I am at the older end of their audience spectrum and can hear their Fall influence. Saw them a couple of years ago at a festival and the roadie was tuning up using the bassline from "Blindness". I knew I was in for a great concert, and wasn't disappointed.

Idles is like one of VERY few new bands in the past 10 years that made me feel like it's still possible to be original. Joe is such unique vocalist. It's personality through and through. And I normally don't like when singers have that heavy British accent when they sing but Joe owns it and totally makes it work. Their album Crawler (2021) was the album of the year for me.
