Bart, It is not only the great recipe, the lovely fresh fish, the nice company with whom to share that dish, but also the place where you are cooking, at the very source of the food chain. You can bet we become jealous... ;) ....but then you still share with us, so this kind of makes up for it. Thanks! Susana

Nice few barbeque tips this time Bart now the warmer weather is on its way, have wondering about how to cook whole fish and potatoes on the barbie, do you need to wrap smaller fish such as sardines in foil to put on the barbie?. Those boats and fishing experience over there in Alaska make me very envious.
@Bartsfishtales9 жыл бұрын
gary daniels Hi Gary, I won;t wrap small fish into the foil but would use a special fish grill to avoid the fish falls down through the spines (do they call them spines in Englist? Don't really know actually).
@garydaniels56629 жыл бұрын
Don't know what they call them exactly, i know them as part of the grill shelf, but i know what you mean, we have a grill we bought for holding and turning burgers must be something similar for small fish. Thank you Bart.

@Bartsfishtales9 жыл бұрын
Sammi Jane Thank you! All fish roe normally gets pasteurized for longer shelf life. This salmon roe just can be eaten when being caught. But don't wait too long as it is very delicate.
@MzPammyB79 жыл бұрын
I didn't realize roe was normally pasteurized. It's great to know you can eat roe from freshly caught fish. Thanks Bart!

McBoots Just eat around it. If your fish is properly cooked you will find an easy way how to get rid of them with just a spoon and a fork.

Love your video as usual and was wondering if Salmon from different parts of the world taste different? Example Salmon from British Columbia and Yukon Salmon? I would think considering water temperature and different food available?
@Bartsfishtales9 жыл бұрын
Shirley Castle Hi Shirley. Good question. It's more the different salmon species tasting different: king, silvers, sockeye, pink and keta. But also the length of the river, it's diet and way of fishing influences the taste of the salmon. And of course wild or farmed salmon makes a big difference in taste.

hey Bart great video!!! Just one question, do you remove the scales from the fish or do you just leave it in this specific recipe.
@Bartsfishtales9 жыл бұрын
Peter Bunyaratvej Yes, you need to descale the fish before you do the recipe. I must admit I wasn't doing a great job as Maxine and her family came in and I was so excited. Just was not concentrated anymore for a proper job:)

Nice recipie! However i'm not a fan of the aluminim-foil packages on the grill in general. Why? Because you loose all the flavour of the grill, might as well do it in an oven. Also, if you serve the skin you should probably de-scale the fish before cooking. The salmon scales are not nice to eat in sweden at least. :)
@mefninja9 жыл бұрын
i cant imagine he forgot to descale it?
@lleberghappy9 жыл бұрын
mefninja 1:56 doesn't look that well descaled to me at least. :) Descaled the skin can be delicious.
