😂 It was so funny seeing you with the makeup. It reminded me of what I do “oh I should keep that, it’s hardly used and was quality” (but I know I probably won’t even use it). I got ruthless in my last clear out by reminding myself that those products have a shelf life.

Great advice! Thank you! I never even thought about make-up having a shelf life. I have some in my big box that I've had over ten years 😳 the eyeshadows still go on nice too but seems like I need to get rid of them.
@sugarplumk23813 жыл бұрын
@TheMercymerz It’s on a symbol on the back of the products. Unopened it’s longer. The one you have to really pay attention to is mascara. Only three months once opened. I was surprised when I heard about that. Not worth risking your eyes so it’s very important. Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who had some makeup lurking around for years ;)

Hi Jennifer, You are just adorable...”bonjour”! You are so organized and actually have very little clutter. You inspire me to be more organized!! And I could so relate about the books...we have SO many...and they are every where!! My dream one day is to have a room that is just lined with bookshelves that would be our library. Wouldn’t that be amazing! You shared such wonderful books. Have you seen any of the books by Mary Randolph Carter? I think you would love them. My favorite is: “A Perfectly Kept House is the Sign of A Misspent Life: How to live creatively with collections, clutter, work, kids, pets, art, etc... and stop worrying about everything being perfectly in its place”. She shows how to decorate with sorts of things including lots of books so that it is manageable but not overwhelming. Thank you so much for all you share! Love, Mary❤️😘❤️

A good tidy up always feels so good! Something I’ve discovered is using inexpensive vinyl flooring from a home Improvement store cut to size and placed in the bottom of those large cabinets. So much easier to clean. I use the smaller cuts for drawers. I started using this for rental property, it works so well I decided to use it at home too.

I have a lot of the same books. I take unwanted cleaning products to my local hazardous waste collection facility, along with paint, batteries, light bulbs, etc. They dispose of cleaning solutions safely so that I don’t have to worry about them causing pollution. I try to use them up if possible, but I so occasionally try a product that I just can’t tolerate the smell of.

Hi Jennifer - I know this video was intended to motivate me to declutter but guess what, it motivated me to stick with my eating plan and I jumped on my exercise bike while watching. You look so good and it motivated me to not give up on my plan. I have gained weight during this pandemic but started trying to lose weight about 6 weeks ago. I already do intermittent fasting to help manage my blood sugar. But seeing how trim you look motivated to keep pushing forward. I heard on my daily devotional yesterday that on the other side of “hard” is your reward. So although this video was about decluttering it motivated me to keep going step by step to the other side of hard. Blessings to you from 73 yr old Texas grandma.

Timely! Yesterday, I decided that I need to do a whole house declutter! I really need to sell a lot of it rather than just donate which is also slowing me down as I don’t look forward to the sales process of back and forth emails, scheduling people to come to house, etc. I remind myself of these things whenever I’m about to buy something new.

Hi! I love your videos. Two tips for the shoes: 1. If you want to fit more pairs, you can stack the one upside-down on top of the other (like they come in the box). We did this when I was living with our parents. 2. After decluttering you put them nose forward (if you know what I mean). They will look even nicer when you put the laces inside. We do this to hide them for our cats (that's how I came up with that idea) and I'm loving it ever since.

Bonjour, chère Jennifer! :D You have such a wonderful knack for making us feel right at home with you. I very much relate to what you said regarding the makeup bin - oftentimes I start a project like this with the best intentions but then I start to perseverate on whether or not to get rid of something... and then the whole project ends up going out the window. This video is just the inspiration I needed! :) Also, regarding that evil pumpkin spray (that name - LOL!!) - I once purchased a cleaner that smelled absolutely awful - and I relegated it to cleaning in the garage only, as close to the door as possible. Like you, I just couldn't throw it out, even though its odor was horrendous! Looking forward to your decluttered home tour. Merci beaucoup, et à bientôt!

I have to say I have habit of decluttering every now and than. Usually it happens during winter long evenings. When days are short we tend to seat more and watch TV or internet. Haha 😂😆 I have the same issue too. Declutter is not easy, make up or skin care. Once I look thru then I end up will take back and keep😃. Old make up remover wipes can use to clean sink or vanity area. Tooth paste use to cleanse sink. Old shampoo and body wash use to combs. Old Shampoo or old body wash, old laundry product wash use to wash toilet 🚽 . Good video👏👍

Bonjour. My husband and I moved and downsized. Since we no longer have a large cabinet for our books ( and other things), we use a section of our bedroom closet. This keeps books close but not out. It’s not as lovely as the cabinet we had in our other home but it works for us.

It is nice to see that even you who always look so perfect can have messy cabinets. I started the intermittent fasting plan two days ago. Last year at this time, when lockdown and all of that was about to happen, I did not panic. I assessed what I had one hand and now that it's been a year, I can say, I have moved through a good amount of the supplies and extras I had. I have also learned to buy what I love instead of what is on sale or cheapest. Example: I love the Love and Planet brand of detergent, so that I all I use, along with some homemade powdered detergent I make myself. Everything else can go! So fun to do this on a yearly basis! I will play along and see what I can declutter this week!
