This lotion formula is flawless. I just made a batch today, following along with this tutorial and I am so well pleased with the outcome. I had to substitute agar agar for xantham gum and that worked well. I also primarily used aloe vera juice and rose water and for the emollients I used a jojoba body oil blend I had previously scented with an essential oil synergy of honeysuckle, lavender, eucalyptus and lemon. My lotion recipes have failed me until now. Bless you Whole Elise for publishing superb skin and hair care tutorials. Indeed my summer skincare crafting list just grew. Self care elevated.

SO happy you included lists for naturally-derived ingredients. I’m trying to make lotions that I can sell at my farmers market, and the only other natural recipes I’ve found so far require you to keep the lotion in the fridge. Very inconvenient to say the least! So glad your channel exists!! 😍 you’re a lifesaver!

I cant believe I'm actually considering this. All these new fad of adding HA and niacinamide is rampant in the markets. They even discontinued products that were actually doing quite well so they could follow this trend.
@TwistedLyfofTV12 күн бұрын
HA is a very good humectant that can be used in place or Glycerin or honey. It's expensive but one teaspoon mixed with distilled water can last a long time when used in products but it can be used on its own. Very worth it if you mix your own over buying cosmetics

I would love a "how to make your own formulation for dummies." Video. I've been doing this for a few months now and I ONLY follow recipes because I get to overwhelmed trying to figure out how to formulate my own recipe. Like with percentages and sizes. I know each ingredient comes with a recommended percentage rate... I just haven't quite figured out how to incorporate them into a STABLE, formulation. 😒
@heidicroucher2 жыл бұрын
I have learned an IMMENSE amount since making this comment over a year ago..... but I think you didn't read what I wrote correctly. I was talking about how to make YOUR OWN formulation... how to formulate on your own. Not how to make HER product in this video. I knew she had step by step instructions on how to make everything she posts. When I made this comment, I was looking into how to make products without following someone else's formula on THEIR product... which I now know how to do. I can make my own products and include my own additives and adjust them to my preferred thickness, scent, feel, slip, etc.
@jhowardsupporter Жыл бұрын
@@heidicroucher I make this stuff for a living in sizes from 5kg to 500kg so I know we don't really experiment with certain things too much. I don't want to go into details because some of the ingredients can be harmful if used in too high a concentration. So I don't want to say you can adjust everything expect this this and this. Then if you are making a small batch for yourself it can be ok but if you add in 200kg of something it can be dangerous to inhale the fumes and so on.

Elise my dear Please can we use isopropyl merystate in lip balms..and what is the right ration in butters and lotions???
@fleurerebeille61093 жыл бұрын
Bees wax is an emulsifier. As well as cetyl alcohol. Both emulsifiers with low HLB value, I believe around 5/6. The first cream ever created in history was made by using 1 part beeswax one part of olive oil and one part of water (rose if I am not mistaken) by Galleno. In formulations you surely can use beeswax as the emulsifier when making water in oil (aka w/o) emulsions. The one in the video is a oil in water emulsion (aka o/w) so the emulsifier has to have a higher HLB value. Just wanted to clarify the point. 😝
