Hank, Jr. has always been a superb talent, no doubt!!! So glad he was finally able to move away from the shadow of Sr., just far enough to find his own niche and sound, and capitalize on it, but never too far to forget what a great composer and singer his father was!!!! I went to one of his shows in 1981 at The Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas. I was a Sr. in H.S., but remember how blown away i was with his musicianship, playing every instrument on the stage!!! Gave me the inspiration to play music myself, working in bands and doing solo gigs over the last 35 years!!! Rock on Bocephus and Thanks!!!!

But God has given us all a blessing we can build or we can look at this like it was yesterday. I pray this finds you well Hank and your life is going well. May God continue to bless you. My only advice I can give you best to keep going, I have a feeling you'll have no problem with that. God's blessings all with my friend❤

I was stationed on “Connie” for almost 5 years in the Hydraulic Shop, Engineering Department as a Machinist Mate 3rd Class Petty Officer from 1983 to 1987 and I was at this remarkable concert. I was front row center “standing room only!” What you find online doesn’t do justice to the way it really unfolded. For instance, at the start the officers and their wives were sitting up front and the enlisted were curtained off from the officers. But the DJ that was going to introduce Hank said that Hank didn’t like discrimination and told us to all come up. The barriers went down as the enlisted crowded forward while the officers and their wives ended up in the back…it was hilarious! BTW, the concert date for June 1984 is wrong. It was on Valentine’s Day in 1984. I still have my original ticket and the chronological order of events for the year. Alabama was the hottest band that night and I was able to get Randy Owen’s autograph. I will always miss and remember affectionately my time aboard “Connie.”

I remember this show! I taped it on our VCR. (LOL! VCR's! Anybody here remember those? Boy, those were the days, weren't they?). I was just a young, teenage girl back in the 80's, and I love country music. This show had so many greats - Mel McDaniel, Sylvia, Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter, Alabama, and of course Hank Williams Jr. I know there are others, I just can't remember who they are at the moment. It's been ages since I saw this. Anyway, it was a great show with a lot of talented artists. Thanks so much for uploading this. Our VCR broke down years ago, and I haven't been able to see this in a long time.
