I think, instead of asking for help with his P.T.S.D. I think he wished he could have just sucked it up & kept the life, then deal with it later. Foxy knows how to positavely re-programme his mind, but when you have P.T.S.D. you hit a wall. Then you constantly try to re-programme, as you're taught & it tires you out. Then it plays a part on your self esteem & confusion as to why you can't re-programme, when it's never failed before & you relied on it. However, I think his P.T.S.D. was affecting his performance, as a Senior Troop Commander, which concerned him. That in its self, shows leadership. You have to be an exceptional Soldier to reach the stage Foxy did. (FACT)

When asked a therapist what trauma caused my PTSD, she said, "All of it." My "it" is nowhere near what soldiers go through. Documentary on TV about military program for PTSD, the main guy (out West USA fishing ranch place), said PTSD is a different journey with the same destination. I look forward to reading J.Fox's book. He makes a lot of sense in interviews.

I was diagnosed with PTSD in 08, jumped through all the hoops with no success, The only thing that kept me sain was work, had several episodes of which i have no record. Was dismissed from a job i loved. I read his book The bit where he sees a little girl jumping in a puddle, it was like a light bulb going on. I owe Foxy so much for writing this .

I got that book a couple of weeks ago. Loved it so much I am reading it again as well as the next one. It's cool to have these little sentences along the way where I switch on and go, "Yeah I can relate little idea that to my life"

the thing i love about this is that the interviewer isn't just loading questions on jason, but instead having a conversation about things and telling things about him as well instead of letting Jason just keep feeding info about him, that is why Jason seems to be comfortable and interested , very good job ,

Shell shock has been recognised for Centuries, where humans are stressed you will get breakdowns. I hope the support is there for those that need it, regardless if it was due to war or even just day to day life. In the past men were told to deal with it, im glad at least that doesn't happen anymore.

I think he's using the term "military" collectively, instead of "SBS" for the sake of the TV show: "SAS". In reality, anyone who has even a small amount of knowledge about the special forces will know that the SBS are for real. They deserve to be understood and appreciated for what they go through. COMPLETE respect to Foxy!

On a more serious note I didn't know depression makes you wake up feeling shit, I thought it came along only after you started thinking. If you literally become conscious and feel shit straight away likely your diet/hydration levels needs attention.

Never come across this channel until it popped up just now. Big fan of Jason and what he is doing for mental health so this was a great listen and watch- the channel focus is brilliant too. I agree hugely with another comment that this interview brought out a different side to Jason than I have seen before. Too many interviewers I've seen try too hard to make heavy weather of Jason's past and pour on the alpha male rhetoric but this interview was in the moment, fun and is a huge credit to the interviewer. I got the impression Jason enjoyed the chance to have a more unstructured and playful interview. Must be a relief after standard press junkets! Credit to you both. Subscribed!

I think the interviewer did a decent job. I believe Fox was relaxed because there was no ”script”. That there was a loose structure, kinda like chaos in a way, that the interviewer had about him and, that helped Fox relax and open up.

Jason Fox is a 10/10 guy. A professional soldier who has been deeply honest about his experiences with dealing with stress. I thoroughly enjoyed his book and his writing of feeling terrified in dangerous situation while others viewed his position as pro-active and tough. What ambiguity of perspectives. Jason's book SHOULD be compulsory reading for military personnel. A good interview. I'd love to meet him a buy him a beer......bud??!!

I had never heard of the interviewer before so I had no opinion of him. I liked this because they seem to be having a genuine conversation and the interviewer seemed interested and was actually listening to the answers Jason was giving which is rare in an interview. I also think they were treating the viewers with respect by not treating them as idiots with limited intellectual capabilities. They are also talking about something of substance. I would like this kind of thing to become more common.
