i spent my whole christmas eve at my dads restaurant with about 30 volunteers cooking and boxing food for anyone who needed it on christmas. my sister had the great idea to write notes in each box wishing them happy holidays and whoever packed that box would sign it. i was in charge of a family of 13, and all together we fed 27 families. my has done stuff like this all the time. he’s the best.

I am helping a lady that is a veteran she has PTSD and has too many cats I don't know how many she is afraid to tell me, it must be more than 50, but I am trying to get them all fixed which is very expensive. I have 6 kittens right now and am calling shelters to see if any can help. Once I get these fixed I will ask this lady if I can have more to save up for and fix more of her cats. Something must be done, or we all know there will be tons of cats to deal with.

@@Lynx-og5fd he was so sweet... he grew up with goats so he would eat goat food when he thought we weren't looking. He would play tag with my horse and they were like brothers. His favorite food was macaroni and cheese. He was a big ole slobbery fluff nugget. I miss him so much... I've had him since I can remember. He always smelled like straw and horses and goats. He was thin but that was just his frame, we fed him scraps of bread, pork, and we put leftover chicken broth on his food. He never ate in front of anyone but me... he was my dog. He got out and bolted because of shotguns. I've hated shotgun season ever since.

Depending on where you live, you might get involved with the Giving Tree. They will give you the age and gender of a child whose family cannot afford gifts and then a short list of things the child likes or needs. Toys for Tots is another great option. If you are a member of a church (or would like to be) that can be another great option, but please be aware that some churches put stipulations on the families receiving gifts that can make it difficult for people to participate in. If you're looking for something that isn't holiday driven, you might also donate to a food bank, clothing bank, or homeless shelter. Many schools have programs where they provide school supplies and clothes to children in need. Good luck, you've got this!
