In 1985, ABC News magazine 20/20 had a segment by Dick Schaap on the battle to release Terry Gilliam's follow-up to Time Bandits. Sidney Sheinberg, the head of the American studio financing half of the film, didn't like the ending, but Gilliam wouldn't budge. This video is a brief covering of the topic, which was expanded upon in the excellent book by Jack Matthews, "The Battle of Brazil: Terry Gilliam v. Universal Pictures in the Fight to the Final Cut," as well as the hour-long "The Battle Of Brazil: A Video History" from the Criterion Blu-Ray.
