That brings back fond memories of running Section 4 in a Perception Sabre a few decades back. The mid rapid microeddies were so fun. In hot weather, it was fun to swim the underwater arch below Seven Foot and climb through the Raven Chute pothole.

Awesome video! This is a SE classic that everyone should do at least once in their kayaking career. The comment on hydroelectric rock is spot on. About two decades ago, I watched it eat a kayak and almost the swimmer that had to bail when the blew the left eddy at the top. They swam that and soc 'em dog, breaking a leg and needed to be splinted and towed out the flat water. The paddle out is still one of the longer ones when the reservoir is up.

So I was thinkin the se reach around. That was sweet linked both directions straight into a cross bow rudder! I'm busy dodging big ice chunks rn, wish I was hopping rocks instead 🤙
@WadeHarrison3 жыл бұрын
I would like to try some ice boofs

Not sure if you still have all the boats but you should do a Rewind v.s. Ripper v.s. Antix vid. Like just you talking about their differences you don't have to go on the water 3 different times or anything like that.

I’m going to do something on that it’s on my video list I keep a note pad by my desk because video ideas pop in my head and might forget them but that’s on the list at the top now that have paddled ripper rewind Antix 2 steeze and party braap which is pretty much every modern half slice in the USA right now there are a few others by soul Titan ZET EXo but that I know of no demos in the USA so not really worth mentioning

Yeah this is pretty good spot it has a long lake paddle out but it runs all year at different levels

Great reviews Wade, did you get a chance to play with seat position in the ripper? Curious if it makes it more playfull with getting the tail down?
@WadeHarrison3 жыл бұрын
I did.. I moved the seat back one notch and it did help balance that boat out nicely for me I’m 175lb it’s still not that easy to get the stern down I don’t Think the ripper was intended to be that play off the tail boat I think it was targeted at a sporty river runner which I think they nailed it..

I wonder what the KT tape over the hip pads does? It’s rather expensive stuff, so it must be doing something revolutionary
@WadeHarrison3 жыл бұрын
It actually added a lot of grip to the pads
@Chris_Burkhardt3 жыл бұрын
Nothing revolutionary with the KT tape. I somehow ended up with a big roll of it that I was never going to use. I was searching for something around the house to cover the foam with and It was stretchy and pretty sticky.
@WadeHarrison3 жыл бұрын
@@Chris_Burkhardt dude I loved the feel of that KT tape on the pads and thigh hooks it adds little grip on the pad yeah I looked at some and it was like 18$ a roll and was like dam!
@Chris_Burkhardt3 жыл бұрын
@@WadeHarrison yeah man, when I bought it I had no real idea how it worked. Anyway it didn’t fix my hamstring cramp but it did rip out a bunch of leg hair. So I had a little animosity towards it. I’d like to find a more cost effective alternative. Lol.

@@Chris_Burkhardt yeah I tried it on my lower back when I was having issues and it really did not do anything was a beast to pull it off though

There was a dead guy cut in half by a throw rope at left crack one time when I ran that. Very dangerous spot.

How would you attach a piece of foam to the cockpit rim like that? carrying my ripper kills my shoulder
@WadeHarrison3 жыл бұрын
Clean the surface with alcohol and cut a small piece and contact cement hold it in place with duct tape
