The reason why AEW doesnt have as many fans is because they dont have as many kids and elders watching like WWE. They are 2 different products for 2 different demographics.

Great opening match. I remember watching wcw and wrestling in general in this era and I hated how every english wrestlers always got stuck with that stupid "god save the queen" blue blood gimmick. Although it would have likely been too worldly for the TV audience at the time, I would've much preferred to see Steve Regal play up the blackpool heritage, with blackpool being home of streetwise hustlers, carnies, and con-men. The blue blood attitude really undersold the variety of English regions, and was way too cartoony
