I completely agree. The man gave his all to the fans for many years, in doing so probably created the circumstances that led to the tragedy. He’s one I’m glad to say I saw live countless times and he was as wide as he was tall and looked like he could kick some serious ass. His world title win at Mania is still my favorite event in WWE.

AEW is trash and cannot compete with the WWE. Sting is an old hag. Tony Schiavone is a dinosaur that represents the ancient days. All these people you mention are a dying breed. Washed up Veteran stars cannot steer the wrestling world towards the future.

SupremeRevival155 they won’t be what defines the future, but they can really help those who will be the future of the business. Older, established guys with name recognition and star power are the ones able to give the up and comers the rub when they put them over. They’re important in the business even after their prime because new stars are made by getting that rub and recognition from older stars putting them over.

Didn't Steiner get the Big Poppa Pump gimmick in 1998 when he joined the NWO and cut and bleached his hair? How can that be Russo's idea if he came to WCW in late 1999?

Yes it was in 1998 russo was still in wwf he didn't have a damn thing to do with Scott steiner transformation

Steiner was technically Big Poppa Pump in late 98 maybe even late 97. Russo was still with WWF in 99 because he was there when Owen died.

I'll never forget going to see a wwf house show in greenville nc at minges in the early 2000's... great show, benoit and eddy had a good match, probably highlight of the show, and the show also had a young brock lesner vs. kurt angle... The thing i remember most was after the show watching the guys leave, and seeing Benoit, and guerrero getting in their rental car and driving away, seeing them both looking out the back glass while speeding away from the arena and people outside watching. goin to another town for another night, glad i got to see that, will always cherish that moment...

It is so weird to hear Tony curse. He was the most professional announcer while in WCW, he really did make the product better. He did for WCW what JR did for WWF at the time.

WWF had no idea how to use Saturn and Malenko. They turned Eddy into a comedic act and put so much pressure on him he medicated himself to death. Similar thing happened to Benoit. So overall, in hindsight, bad move to jump to WWF.

Benoit did the right thing long term for sure. He along with Eddie won the most out of Jumping ship before shit hit the fan in WCW.

Generally but not in the stage that WCW was in here. That competition was over by this time. Sure they were in business but they weren’t even near competing anymore. And the world title meant next to nothing by this time. I can’t see what true leverage the WCW belt would’ve had for either side in this time period. I think the fact Benoit left right after being made champ said all that needs said about the title and its value to anybody in the business.
