My friend has a 144hz monitor with 10ms, and I can say that I feel a difference in the 10ms compared to my 3ms, so its not a myth, and btw you have TVs with 120hz with alot of input lag. on the other hand, I've already tested monitors with a higher refresh rate and less response time where it's not as smooth as my old monitor from 2009, I think it's because my monitor still has a DVI input

I remember seeing a video about this a while back. I think most people didn't notice the difference but some people did get better results on the test with lower response time, so it depends on your vision. I have 144hz/1ms gaming monitor and I still suck at FPS 🤣🤣, so if you are good at gaming, 1ms can make difference, but if you're an average player, it may not help

@yesyes-om1po19 күн бұрын
@@noahswarz4914 a lot of manufacturers lie about their 1ms response times or cherrypick a specific result from tens of frame transition tests, so the "1ms" has become sort of like slapping HDR on a monitor that can barely hit 400 nits of brightness. If you want to see what true ultra-low pixel response times look like, you'd have to go find a high refresh rate CRT, or a high refresh rate OLED, CRTs actually have a "0" ms response time, because they flash the image on screen, there is no "transition" unlike with an LCD, OLED gets pretty close with 0.03ms but its still not as perfect as CRT.

Now that OLED gaming monitors are a thing, this video is actually a bit outdated, OLED monitors are easily reaching 0.3 ms response times on all GTG transitions, this is important because most LCD IPS panels that advertise "1ms" take the absolute best result from all transitions with overdrive cranked so high that it creates overshoot in order to get that cherrypicked result, while OLED blows it out of the park on ALL transitions with absolutely no overshoot or undershoot.

I use two monitors with "1ms response times" one running at 144Hz and the other at 60Hz and I switch between them without any issues. However, I also have another 60Hz monitor with a significantly slower response time, probably around 5-10ms, and that’s where things feel off. The slower pixel response makes the display feel closer to 30-40 FPS rather than a true 60 FPS. Even simple tasks like moving the mouse feel noticeably laggy and sluggish on the same PC, especially when compared to the lower response time 60Hz monitor. It’s not immediately apparent, but after getting used to 144Hz, the difference becomes obvious. Maybe that’s just me, though.

just switched to an OLED, and trust me, you can tell the difference. I thought the smeary cartoonish look of 144hz motion was just a part of high refresh rate, but on an OLED, which has a 0.3 ms response time across all GTG transitions with NO overshoot, it looks crystal clear, that blur/smearing is completely GONE. Once you go OLED, you never go back.

If you're not competetive i would reccomend getting a 144hz 180 etc etc becouse It will be cheaper and if you dont have a rtx 4090 beast/ dont Play at low settings its not worth It. For me 80-120hz fps/refresh rate is great. Also if you're buying a 32inch 1080p that's a bad idea. Id reccomend 24inch for 1080, 27inch for 1440p and above 27inch for 4K. This would also bring the price down.

The whole reason to buy more than 60hz monitors is that your pc runs smoother than your monitor, so if you buy a monitor that's refresh rate is as good as your fps you're getting all out of it. So check your fps in the games you play most, your monitor's refresh rate should match that.

People always need to go out and buy the best of the best. Well u don’t really need to. The best of the best isn’t always great. Well explained. I have an asus that I love. It has a 1ms. I don’t really notice a difference between the tv or the monitor. What u will notice is the htz. I know a difference between 60 and 165. So much cleaner and so much detail. I complain to the wife all the time to use pc. I cannot play on the shitbox one no more. That’s awful and i am disgusted on how much I pay for them junk consoles. I am old and use to play snake on crt monitors. So this is a long way from that. 4ms to 1ms isn’t shit. The most any one would have to complain about is aspect ratio now and the htz. No one actually realizes that the bigger the screen the worse off it is too. U stress this gpu when it can’t handle a 65 inch tv at 60htz 😂 24 inches or even 30 inches is sufficient enough in your face. Mind u when u sit 10 ft away from your 65 inch tv. It’s no different than sitting 5 ft from a 30 inch tv. Same as a monitor. I have a 24 inch monitor that is more than good enough for the foot that it sits away. Trust me. The bigger it is u still aren’t going to see that other half of the leg or head. I dont also need life size people on my screen 🤣 4ms u aren’t missing anything. I agree with him 💯
