The giant ring around spawn would've been cool IMO, it's a large structure of obsidian that barely obstructs vision and can serve as a giant omnidirectional landmark around spawn.

A seasoned player who understands both japanese and english met a japanese player and they united the other japanese newbies under one banner, and after a while of training, they became good enough and decided to make that structure as their mark on the server. I find this entire operation to be counterproductive and dumb. The point of it was to remove the obsidian eyesores from the sky, but for a lot of them they just made them even more of an eyesore.

I think for the ones they aren't removing, they should remove blocks on a distant grid to allow sunlight below them. kind of fits the idea imo.

If anything they revealed their weakness: They can't destroy anything too big. Any future Obsidian project will now need to go big or go home, so it will encourage people to ONLY build MEGA projects that are impossible to remove since they didn't bother with the masonic symbol

Considering what it took to get the project going Zi don’t think it’s gonna stop players from building art with obsidian, however I do think if anyone is gonna build an obsidian structure it’s most likely gonna be away from spawn out of fear of similar projects like this happening again.

I wanted to build what I thought might be an ungriefable base but after seeing this I can tell 2b2t players will grief anything no matter how big. Though maybe a base millions of blocks from spawn won't be a big enough annoyance to make people expand so much effort to destroy it.

Multiple accounts controlled by one single user is an old Avolition trick. Krysk had something like that in 2011, iirc 10 accounts in the exact same location dealing 10 times the PVP damage.
