The inquest concluded that the war crimes committed by the Australian soldiers killed 39 civilians, if we are counting Afghans; including combatants, the number is unfortunately much higher. It isn't ONLY avoided due to superstitions, it's avoided because it can be awkward to accidentally mention the word 'death' in certain situations.
