I'm 1 week into my guitar and your videos have by far been the friendliest and least "intimidating" if you will :D Thank you!

What is your main finger issue? Let me know in the comments! As I mentioned in the video, for me it is my middle finger flying up.

While playing fast when I change from one chord to another the string rings, I don't know how to prevent it

I struggle to use my pinky finger while playing riffs and this slows me down. What advice would you give to combat this.

My main finger issue is the placement of my nails. The end of my finger is in a way, where if i was to make a right angle with my finger and the fretboard, it's my nail that's touching the fretboard. This is kinda like an inflexible DIP, but i can't change it. Even with my nails cut as short as they'll go, it'll always be there.

Thanks for posting. This is something I have seen before, unfortunately it does mean that your margin for error with touching the strings below is smaller, but I have seen students overcome it. Hopefully you have managed to work around it!

@@step-by-step-guitar it means I have to keep them very trimmed, and some chords just need to be played differently. Wrist placement, posture etc all helps, but ultimately it sometimes leads to different voicings out of necessity. Thankfully my ring and pinky have this problem a little less, but my index for example struggles. Over time it's gotten better, and there's no way in hell I'll ever stop :p

I have small hands and my fingers are short and stubby. I don't have big issue with speed except sometimes it is difficult to finger some advance chords and wide stretch legato.

you are missing an important part of the spider exercise. if you climb through the fingers while descending the strings you have to play a 1 and a 4 on 2 strings such that if your finger arch is bad you will not be able to play 1. this is why i do the spider
